  • oh yes this is abuse.....just like racing.....show jumping.....and all the other horse sports.... its all abuse...why? because you have to teach them how... -_-

On to a lighter note nice vid :)

  • Why people complain about this video? This is an amazing horse. Don't worry this is not your horse, you can waite 10 years if you like to ride yours, just let people be please. The horse to me is not being abused at all the horse is 3 1/2 which is good for all horses to ride, the horse's piaffe is good for a 3 1/2 but don't forget that frisians have lots of movement. Another thing, if you pay attention the rider looks like he weights 140 lbs perfect for a 1500lbs horse, stop commenting bad!

  • Waaaaaay to young to start ride like that! :O

  • I really doubt this Friesian is 3 1/2 years old, his size and build indicates a much older horse not to mention this movement takes several years to teach a horse

  • I dislike this video times 10. As already mentionned this horse is much too young to be doing grand prix mouvements.

  • that looks like it would hurt it's hooves. And danqq he looks tal 17hh+?

  • Geesh! I don't even start mine under saddle until 4 years old. I drive them in harness from 2-4 so they can mature more physically.

  • Way to not have your heels down man

  • @Bleck167 it's called dressage you have to signal the horse to do things with your leg they can't just sit in one fixed position all the time

  • We got an one year old Friesian Filly..our daughter must wait another 4 years to ride it. Here in Germany and by the Breeders in the Netherlands they all ride this horse never for the 5th Birthday...

  • Do not use this bit for such a young horse :(

    Please...

  • This horse, as said before, should not be doing such a collected move. This is such an advanced move, it require the topline muscle that a 3 year old won't have.

  • This horse and rider are gorgeous. I agree with everyone else, this horse is way to young and may not show it now but, he will show his pain later in life.

  • the horse is almost 4 yrs. old...he's fine..chill

  • @emoheartsJR When you only look at the age, I think you're quite wrong. Friesians aren't quick growers like Thoroughbreds are, you know o.ô

But just saying, I just agree with the others who also have said that this Friesian is too young for it's age to preform things like this.

  • hey i wanna know how much you charge to show that dance?

  • this horse is very pretty and this is amazing how you can get a horse to do this

  • This movement is amazing to watch and must have took some training, owning Friesians myself i have to agree with some of the comments, Friesians are late developers and do not fully mature till around 8yrs old however as long as the joints have closed this action would be fine and i'm sure he is just showing off for the video and not performing like this every two minutes!

  • I think it's too young, but it looks really awesome

  • most of you are so wrong in what you say

because i have met gustavo and he is a wonderfull horse trainer

i train my frisons the same way with no problems what so ever

the frison horse has much very strong mussels and can out stand this movement

and to be honest this is my horse he is on and said he is a great mover and strong

so why not give him credit where it is due i must say to all if you can not comment on him nicely then dont watch this clip

  • No way in this world should that horse be doing that at that age!!!

  • This horse is not hurt or mistreated AT ALL the long dressage whip is NOT used to beat them, its used as part of training they only use it to get the horses feet up with a light tap..and you cannot judge if it is too young, some horses are well developed at this age to start this training, you have to make sure with a veterinarian first though..If you have gone to GudLopez.com you will learn that this man is WAYY far more experinced with horses than most of you..so stop criticizing its ignorant!

  • brother beautiful, i can see hard training

  • this horse is far fromin pain he is enjoyin what its doing if it didnt then he would have his ears back and he would be hunched if any pain was bein inflicted

  • I dont know why stupid people comment so bad about this horse to me it looks like the people that dont like this are people that do not kow anything about horses. andalucians and friecias are good to be started on training at the age of 3, another thing this horse is not performing passage. this is called piaffe. I dont thik this horses feet or better called offs are not in pain at all because this horses are just trained for 30min to 1 hr. I am a farrier and trainer and love friesians and PRE

  • What is this song? It's beautiful. I dreamed of a friesian doing such a passage years ago...

  • this horse is far too young to do the passage!!!!!

  • Ouch! This horse is way too young to do that ! For having bought one last year, I know friesian horses have a big heart and want to please their rider but doing such a movement a that age, I doubt it could do any good. They're late growers and he may not show it or feel it now but he's gonna have problems later.

I appreciate though the softness of the bit (many people tend to use bits with stronger action on friesian horses...)

  • @lepse1971 actually (and this is based off of personal knowledge and experience with the vet) but most Friesians are fully developed by around their third year and can start, if mentally and physically ready, on advanced dressage movements. such as the passage, Piaf(ugh i never spell that right) and some others that i can't remember at the moment. but my point is the horse is not flinching in his movements nor are his movements sluggish he is read for the passage plus the man is experienced.

  • this is sad, i can see his feet begging to be not hurt, he is in pain and is trying not to be beaten ... its sad that this poor horse had to live threw that... i understand its beautiful but honestly if you look at his hooves you can see the muscle pain inflicted.

  • @aroze4mom2 um no this horse is not in pain.and he isn't trying to avoid being beaten. the man doesn't even actually use the crop on him its just a light crop which swishes up and down with the horses movements. this horse is healthy and round his feet aren't wearing in any unusual patterns the type of 'hesitant' movement you see there is called passage and its muscle control not pain his rider is asking him to use halting steps and he is complying. trust me this horse is healthy and well cared4

  • @LittleMustangMare I dont know why but the video posted my comment to this one and not to another one i had watched. I believe this one is well off, but a little to young for the full passage movements, they shouldnt be into these movements till 4.5 or so years even a little later. Due to muscle formation and late development. But over all this one is fine.

  • Not that I know much about it... but isn't he a little young for passage??

    Looks good anyway!
