  • He is such a snot, man alive. He comes off as so condescending.

  • George Lucas ruined star wars

  • @occupyingyourmumsvag What? Go fuck your help kid, Star Wars was the fucken greatest movie ever.

  • He is just a norml dude. how would you be? I met Jake when he was about 10 and he was just a kid, i think now hes as noraml as anyone else. So dont be a hater

  • Now I feel bad for the podracing stuff. Jake seems like a bro.

  • Perhaps it's because I was never a Star Wars nerd (though I love Sci-Fi in general), but I never hated any of the movies in the Prequel-Trilogy, let alone blamed Phantom Menace on young-Jake Lloyds acting :P It was about as good as any child-actor gets, especially considering he was under George Lucas pressure.

  • Considering some of the rude and simply cruel comments that people have made on here, is it any wonder that Jake Lloyd may seem tired of the whole thing? He was a little kid and the world reared its ugly head on him at such a young age, who would be happy about that? For anyone who goes to attack a 9 year old kid, it's pathetic. I never understand why everyone here feels the need to judge how Jake should act or live his life, it's his life, not yours. It was 13 years ago, get over it already.

  • Haha, that was great when he's doing the hand motion thing and "...You wanna hug?"

  • I like how he has sarcarcsim in every starwars question asked.

  • He's still a douche, glad to see things haven't changed too much lol

  • @DWarrior4 jake is no douche man, i think he made the right decision to quit acting and go to school for editing. He actually likes attending these conventions. He has moved on fine from playing young anakin.

  • @volcano83 agreed and I also watched an interview he did with some jerk who just didn't get that he is a man before he is an icon he deserves respect

  • poor guy,he looks so over it all, cant blame him, lucas is good at killing actors careers

  • I met him at the same con, and to be honest, he seemed very stressed out the entire time.

  • Have to say he's done relatively well to keep his head on his shoulders. I can't imagine the amount of flak and teasing he would have got his whole damn life since Phantom Menace. That would make anyone want to become a recluse. Good on him.

  • He looks like Leonardo DiCaprio. Jake's a cutie :)

  • 1:00 lol. Awkward.

  • He seems like a genuine nice guy

  • @jhkl123456 u should see the video titled "very awkward interview with jake lloyd". hes an ass.

  • @lbendik6301 I thought the interviewer was an "ass" actually and that Jake handled it with class, but that's just me, I guess we all see different things. Oh well.

  • I don't get why people don't like Phantom Menace. I liked it very much. Just the second and third movies just seemed to have really bad dialogue.

  • @dragonbreathstinks Red Letter Media.

  • @MitholX Red Letter Media is god awful. Come up with your own arguments instead of pointing toward some shitty nitpicking retard.

  • @horrorfinatic YOU AIN'T GONNA GET A PIZZA ROLL!

  • @danSARS Oh noes! :P

  • @horrorfinatic Those are all the arguments against it. I was thinking of you when I pointed you towards Red Letter Media, for the entertainment value. But if you don't find that funny then you probably have no taste, and so I think we've found the problem.

  • @MitholX WHAT? I'm tasteless because I don't find stupid rape jokes and pointless nitpicking funny?! LOL! You fanboys are so one note and retarded, it's incredible!

  • @horrorfinatic No, because you have no sense of humour and you feel the need to defend the Phantom Menace. And I am not a fanboy.

  • @MitholX Oh, I have a sense of humor. I just know that RAPE ISN'T FUNNY. His videos are shit, and people who point to them instead of actually trying to have a debate or rational discussion about the film, are also shit. You may not be a fanboy, but you're definitely a fucking idiot.

  • @horrorfinatic Why take the time to have a debate with a tasteless idiot like you when the points I want to make are already on the internet? Pardon me for having a life.

  • @MitholX LOL, if you actually sat through all 70 minutes of his bitching and rape jokes, you have no more of a life than the rest of us. Twat. He made no points that couldn't be applied to the original trilogy as well.

  • @horrorfinatic 1. Point out where the rape jokes were. There were jokes about murder and kidnapping but I don't remember any specific ones about rape. 2. I'd rather waste time watching Red Letter Media than watching the Phantom Menace. But both would be time better spent than arguing with you. So goodbye. Enjoy getting into disagreements with people on youtube.

  • @MitholX 1. He has women chained up in his basement. It's not exactly a subtle implication, but then again, you seem a little dense.

    2. Haha, I win.

  • As much as I love Star Wars it really is a career ender for loads of the cast; Jake Lloyd, Mark Hamill et al

  • @princeofthieves1 And the et al is...?

  • People defending him. He's being asked to come and do these shows, and it wouldn't surprise me if he asked himself, and he get's paid for the autographs, i don't know how much but it's a big percentage or the whole thing, im not sure

  • I REALLY understand that he's unhappy because of the film and he got bullied to a level beyond any other bullying (probably) But, for the fans that pay for an autograph at these conventions, please put on a smile and answer the questions without a snarky tone and make facial gestures showing off your discomfort. It may be the millionth time he has been asked these questions, but it's probably the first time the fans have seen a castmember from their favourite movie franchise.

  • @disobediance HOW DO YOU KNOW HE GOT BULLIED?

  • @soundbeans Watch "Jake Lloyd: Ten Years After Star Wars One".

  • @disobediance I don't see how his behavior is so wrong here. He did smile, in fact, he even gave a hug, he seem quite polite and just because he made a few sarcastic comments here and there hardly means being rude. One of my favorite actors who I've met at various Cons thrives off messing with the fans and teasing everyone and picking on people. Maybe Jake is just the same and trying to be funny. I still don't see how he was rude about anything.

  • And very not polite

  • He seems very unhappy.

  • he didnt ruin star wars. he played his part the way it was written, and did a fine job. he was believable for what he was hired to do. on the other hand, hayden christiansen was not believable, though he didnt actually ruin star wars. but hayden was not a good actor.

  • @healthyamerican

Everyone in Star Wars is a good actor. They were just cast in movies (prequels, anyway) with very shitty scripts written by an equally shitty writer; one George Lucas.

  • Well it must be hard to be constantly asked questions about your Glory Years back when you were 9??? Whose glory years were at 9? And even at 9 he was raked over the coals for his performance at the time and every day since. It was a thankless high profile job. But he's asked to do these events and idiot fans ask idiot questions.

  • loose some weight man...

  • Only a true Nerd of Star Wars would go see that poor bastard, the kid got dumped HEAVY by anyone and everyone that saw Episode 1, That poor bastards gotta swallow his already shattered pride and do these sighnings for tuition money.

  • @XvxBERSERKxvX I've got to agree with you there. I'll slam the PT and Lucas for hiring him, but you can hardly blame Lloyd for it. And as you said, he must've got real shit handed to him by the fans for both the film and his performance, so you even gotta feel kinda sorry for him. Blame Lucas and maybe even Lloyd's parents by all means, but not him. He was only a little kid at the time and didn't know what a great big shit storm Lucas was creating for him by being in TPM.

  • oh wow... after the "awkward interview" video I gave Jake the benefit of the doubt and thought it was perhaps the interviewers fault... looks like Jake just developed a cynical attitude over the years... shame

  • @StylinRed He's fine. I just met him a few weeks ago and we talked for like 20 minutes. He's a very nice guy. We've also been playing some Left 4 Dead, which is awesome. :)

  • I cant wait to see him and Arnold at the Jingle All the WQay Convention !!!!1111

  • Damn. little Annie got hot. I'd hit it. You want some man on man, Jakey?

  • He was a pretty boy, and now he's pretty ugly.... Sorry but that's my opinion...

  • @inbarbi10 Lol, so are you a pedo or...what...?

  • he look more like that guy in alpa dog the short dude the one who plan on killing the kid that who he look like.

  • @ilikescreamo1991 yeah, kinda.

  • weIIiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrdddddddddddddddddd

  • If I was him I'd be pretty pissed off. He had a career going well before Star wars. Then right after, he had nothing because all the critics deemed it a failure. But Natalie Portman because she has the Jew angle got the A list career. Meanwhile he's signing autographs for 20 bucks a pop or whatever, and has to answer the same questions for the same movie for the next billion years. And please spare me with the "Oh you are anti-semitic" BS. It's so incredibly obvious. Exhibit 1A: Adam Sandler.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Your absolutely right my friend, I like ur username too!

  • he talks like he doesnt care for star wars any more or life any more im confused

  • The problem is not with Jake Lloyd...the problem is that people are seeing him at 8 years old then 20 years old...he's not a kid anymore. To say he's drained or a loser is just madness.

  • @jazz4 Exactly,couldnt agree more

  • did he where a mask during the whole thing??? like...wouldnt he be pursued by the pitchforks and discontent of angry nerds wanting a good old fashion lynching???

  • The fact that he didn't turn out like eddie furlong, macaulay culkin, dustin diamond, and a shitload of other failed hollywood child actors is comforting. I am suprised he didn't kill himself after dat chit

  • Brit: -Thanks!

    Jake: -No problem...

    Well, f*ck you Jake!

  • haha what happened to that energetic and annoying kid he used to be, hes completly drained now lol

  • @ART1975CZ

If by quit you mean could not get a role

    Then yes he quit..

  • Lsiten to the attitude from this guy. "Meh i hate Star Wars, it ruined my life but i do these things to make money"

I will never understand these conventions and why people attend them to meet guys like Jake Lloyd. You wanna meet Mark Hammill, yeah i certainly get that he was friggin Luke Skywalker okay. But show up pay money to meet the guy that was awful in 1 terrible SW movie. And he has an attitude about it to boot.. So stupid..

  • He just gives off a bad vibe nowadays. If he's going to be so ackward and unpleasant I really dont know why he even bothers showing up.

  • @hermit5321 He seemed fine to me. Most of the fans I've heard from said he was really nice to them, and he's nice ot the people he talks to on Facebook as well.

  • He face...is more compatible with the real Darth Vader...

  • Why is everyone feeling bad for him? He's a massive attention whore!

What, you think he's showing up at Comic Cons for free? Why else would any other celebrity show up?

    He's paid to be there!

  • @mrbucket1337 So...? Doesn't change the fact that he was bullied all through high school for something he did when he was 8. People are assholes. I don't really feel bad for Jake anymore, because I've talked to him and he seems okay. But it;s completely understandable that other people do.

  • @mrbucket1337 money is money. he's probably use to everything negative people say about him by now anyways. he might as well make what 5 minutes of fame he had.

  • @mrbucket1337 If you got paid to show up and sign stuff you would to.

Its free money what idiot would turn that down.

  • @mrbucket1337 Of course he's paid to be here, the whole point of Comic Con is to get the celebrities to show up. Are you saying that everyone who shows up is an attention whore then? Don't just start in on Jake, there's plenty of actors being paid to show up, he's not the only one.

  • @asiansarecute agreed. i mean yeah he was not very good in the movie acting wise but he was a kid at the time so you can hardly blame him. besides it's not like the actor who followed him up was any better

if anything, what ruined star wars prequels was a number of things and a young anakin skywalker was just a small part of it. they should have just thrown out episode 2 coz that movie was garbage

  • He's getting increasingly pissed off.

Imagine at 25 he just loses it...at a comicon, grabs a toy lightsaber and massacres everyone in the room.

Then it's gonna get even worse. hah

  • @superhamzah85 Why do people keep saying these things? Jake is fine. I've talked to him on Facebook and he is not in any way psychotic. Stop it.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaassssshoooooooooolle

  • @jaffas11 How is he an asshole? For being nice to his fans? You guys make no sense...

  • hey does anyone know the guy who doubled as Aniken when thay were filming in London I met him recently and he couldnt be more opposite to this one he,s really nice and tall and handsome to.

  • @force354 Im sure hes a really nice guy. Starwars definitely caused him some serious damage though. Im sure he was ridiculed his whole life for running that starwars film and its not his fault at all. When your older you can just brush off harmful words, but for him, he was a child. Im sure he feels like he let everyone around him down. I think we can all understand the other side of things.

  • awful acting he did in Phantom menace ..... Edward furlong was not far off the same age in T2 and was million times better actor ... so u guys cant blame his age, shit film shit cast, shit !

  • @jasonmode7 Wasn't Furlong like...5 years older???

  • ok no one should feel bad for the kid. He gets Paid better than most to do these signins and he CHOOSES to get these same questions. The movie made his life a never ending paycheck.

  • I can imagine that it gets quite tedious and frustrating, going around to events and doing signings for something you wish you could distance yourself from, and to have people asking you the same lifeless, condescending questions. While discomfort is definitely apparent, I suspect that he actually has a sense of humor in these situations, but that he's very deadpan about it. Also, having a camera in your face always makes a situation more awkward.

  • Too bad he wasn't able to get any nerd tail for this movie then again most star wars fan girls aren't all that hot. The ones that are though I'm sure they'd rather have a go at Hayden christianson haha

  • poor guy. he would have copped so much flak over the years. no wonder he seems a bit off.

  • His acting in SW, and even moreso by a tenfold in Jingle All The Way, simply sucked, independently of Lucas or scripts or whatever.

Now, though - what a cool fellow he's become.

  • @asiansarecute I agree with you we shouldnt blame Jake Lloyd we should blame the people who casted him in the first place. Whether it was Lucas or someone else.

  • WTF? Why is everyone bashing this film??? I loved this movie. People that say it's horrible don't know what a horrible movie really is! ...and there wasn't anything wrong with his acting either.

  • @ProfsrAJ Dude that movie bites ass so hard you can see the bones.

  • Seems like a real, down-to-earth person to me. The fact that he asked the dude's name and then replied, "I'm Jake" basically meant that he was just another guy. No better or worse.

  • The kid didn't ruin the film, anyone who says that is a jerk, I can't stand this film but it's not from the kid or his acting, it's cuz of the poor acting in general from everyone, even Neeson, and the terrible script, and the awful characters, Jar Jar Binks? Sio Bibble? Captain Panaka? Did Lucas give these characters their names by having some write down what he said while he was speaking pig latin?

  • @RyZombie619 This may not come up as a surprise, but in an interview Lucas said he named those characters after the names that his (then) young children had made up. Qui Gonn's name and many more where made up by his kids. Sad. The movie had good actors, but a bad dialogue. Ewan, Liam, Natalie, they're good actors, they were just given terrible lines. I don't think the movie is that bad. What makes it bad is that it has the star wars name and it didn't live up to the hype.

  • It's such a shame, he just acted, he didn't destroy star wars. Grow up people, and blame Lucas. If anyone needs to be blamed it's him and his stupid re-canonin and scripts.

Seriously if you come up with something written by George Lucas in the movie theaters again, just run away and fast.

  • good on Jake for getting out there to shows, he doesn't have to do that kind of sh*t, but he still does.

  • he is a bit of a dick

  • @eddieharr think of all the shit he has taken, wouldnt you be after 10 years?

  • He looks kind of like Mitchell Davis in that video "Lavalife #94"!! 8o

  • I just found the most disturbing thing ever. Sticker on Jake's face on the cover of Jingle all the way DVD:

    .imdb.com/media/rm541234176/tt0116705

  • Idk, Jake Lloyd just kind of rubs me the wrong way. Seems like he'd be a prick outside of any scifi con. Like if I ran into him at a bar, he'd say some douchebaggy thing and go hide amongst his friends. I don't know him personally, obviously, but he just comes off that way. He doesn't seem like he really wants to be at those cons.

  • I feel bad for the guy he did a good job at the movie prob is with him is that he acts like such a douche bag like he's better than everyone else or he just doesn't want the attention whatever it is I feel for him. He just needs to suck it up and be a man about it.

  • @asiansarecute if the kid could actually act then he wouldnt have ruined the movie

  • @girlsbdfa

Even Ewan Mc Gregor, Liam Neeson and Samuel L. Jackson couldn't make this stinker of a movie, with its bad dialogue and idiotic script, working. What do you expect from a 9 year old boy?

    Idiot.

  • @porcorosso81 i expect that when you are casted in a franchise as popular in the star wars series then you at least have some idea of what you are doing. it was mostly lucas' fault for casting someone who obviously wasn't ready for the task at hand. im just saying that lucas casted someone that couldn't act.

  • @girlsbdfa

And I am saying that even those who, by your logic, should know what they are doing, weren't able to elevate those films. The prequel films mainly suffer from bad scripts and cingeworthy dialogue. How can an actor save such a stinker when the very foundation of the film you are playing in is rotten and doesn't hold up?

It's more the case of the creator having no idea what he is doing, than the child actor chosen to portray a mass murderer in its infancy.

  • Wow, turns out that Lucas raped ALL of our childhoods with the Phanton Menace.

I've always thought of Jake Lloyd as a kind of "co-raper" - like an integalactic Goebbels - but apparently the poor guy got raped worse than anyone.

"Mr Lucas, when you told me I'd get to hold a lightsabre, this is NOT what I had in mind..."

  • Jake shows up, puts in the effort, smiles, chats with the fans, and spends the day doing the work...he clearly respects his position and his fans. Some celebrities nowadays (Lindsey Lohan) don't even show up for work. I think people should be grateful that there are still actors like Jake that are polite and respect their fans.

Also, I don't see why ppl didn't like him in Star Wars. Problem was with the writing. Jake was good in "The Pretender" (tv show) & I think he was 5 in that.

  • J.L is just fine. He just sees the whole insane lunacy with the attention and devotion to fictional characters and settings. He's not broken, he just has a dry wit to his personality. Many people are like that. They are in fact very happy people, they just don't care for the frivolous things and experiences in life.

  • @USTUBE4000 Agreed, but then showing up at events like this seems a bit of a waste of time. He doesn't have to do it...

  • @USTUBE4000 Harrison Ford comes to mind

  • @USTUBE4000 I agree to an extent but his interviews always seem to show a condescending attitude and defensive answers. There are lots of actors who are like what you're talking about and I'm sure Jake is one of them but it still doesn't mean they get defensive and condescending towards people in interviews. He seems so ashamed and unappreciative of his experience.

  • @USTUBE4000 i really get what your saying, but, he gotta be a bit more polite and nice to his fans!

  • @ElizaaOzx He is very polite to his fans....

  • I understand that he probably got a lot of shit for doing this, but so do other child actors. He doesn't have to act like such a victim, like his life is such a miserable mess.. He has a huge fanbase, probably a lot of money, and gets to be a center of attention at these comic cons. Damn

  • @Afrojitsu He doesn't work in the business anymore. That film ended his career. Through high school he got teased all over by people who didn't like the movie, and probably by adults too. At the moment he's studying film and plans to work as an editor, not an actor. How would you feel if you got told all the time you've ruined a movie? It wasn't even his fault the script was badly written. Maybe it's just his personality, maybe he's shy.

  • @frodo322

I realize that, but he can't carry it throughout his life like some huge burden, and seem to show it off to everyone around him. People may have treated him like shit, but when he finally does get reporters or fans that come up to him and ask questions, treating him nicely, he treats them like shit... So maybe he never learned a lesson

  • @frodo322

Good. Nice to see somebody here with common sense about Jake Lloyd. Everyone should put the blame where it belongs: Squarely on that imbecile George Lucas's shoulders.

  • @frodo322 I agree, I certainly don't blame the guy for the prequels, and I think he needs a big hug bad...

  • @frodo322 HE RUINED STAR WARS FOR LIFE AND HE RUINED THE DREAMS OF A MILLION KIDS. HE PROBABLY CAUSED THE SOMALI FAMINE TOO.

  • @soundbeans Troll comment? It's hard to tell on Youtube...

  • Kid should sue Lucas for raping his childhood.

  • man, this kid is broken. buck up buddy!

  • I liked Jake in STAR WARS he didnt ruin anything, and kids can be cruel when they are jealous of someone.

This video is kinda odd the nerdy fanboy at the end asking for a hug from another guy was kinda gay lol...

  • Lucas should've just done Anakin as CGI that way he wouldn't have ruined this kids life.

  • He must despise Lucas, but i'm sure he made lots of money cause of him.

  • he is fucking hot

  • it seems like hes a person that doesn't like to be asked dumb questions or he will give you a dumb answer

  • @vXFOAMYXv EXACTLY how he seems

  • Jake was eight, get over it people, it was 10 years ago, why not devote your time to actors and actresses who are old enough to know better!

  • He was the only thing I really loved in EP1 :))

  • @korszet me too :)

  • @korszet

Agreed! Shame he quited acting so eaerly...

  • Yeah stop talking about what you did when you were 8 dude. If that was the peak then it's all down hill from there. To me he has awesome talent. Anyone who says he was a terrible actor in episode 1, probably thinks Hayden Christensen deserved an oscar. I saw the screen tests on "the Making Of" and 7 year old Jake nailed the part hands down first time.

  • I think if he truly wants to shed this anakin shit, maybe he should get back on the saddle and act again. I could see him in a dark comedy or drama. I could take him serious now as an actor, now that he's a smarmy, sarcastic grown up like the rest of us.

  • @colvo115 I completely agree. because he gave up acting, he inadvertently created more of a target on himself as ep. 1 is his real only role

  • He kind of reminds me of Jack Black, actually.

  • he reminds me of one those dudes who are short but eat muscle protein and secretly shoot steroids and get into bar fights.

  • In the early 1990's, George Lucas decided to go ahead with a Star Wars prequel Trilogy...

Thus condemning the child actor who would play Anakin to a life of finger pointing and misery...

    ....Seemingly

  • I think he enjoyed playing the part but he grew up into a socially awkward person who struggles with this kind of thing.

  • @sugoidave

hell yeah man you're 100% right

  • guy asking the questions does not sound like English is his first language.

  • Comment removed

  • It's an Australian chick...

  • @TheLeatheryman dude thats a guy lol

  • @sukkkmyballs holy shit i think you're right.

  • He is a really big dick

  • Lucas should digitally remove Hayden and insert Jake Lloyd into episodes 2 and 3. Since he's old enough now.

Then he can sell everyone more copies of the same damned movies again!

  • rofl the hayden part looks gay it sucks they dident wait for this dud ot grow up to shoot other films rofl

  • Quit yer whining, Jake. Enjoy it. Being in a few crappy Star Wars movies didn't end Natalie Portman's career.

These meet and greets at sci fi shows will keep him wealthy for his whole life.

  • Comment removed

  • strange personallity thaty guy has seems like he is sick of just being known as anikin poor guy

  • I have worked at many conventions both in the UK and America. I have spoken with Jake many times. He is very shy and perhaps a little awkward, but he is highly intelligent and very vocal about his pasions in life. He does not act any more, and he was only a child when he made Star Wars, so he really does not have much to say about it. He is a very nice guy...

  • haha , "I was 8!"....I always thought he's grow up to look like River Phoenix but he didnt really

  • Haha poor Jake, he should have used his jedi skills and sent that smart-ass nerd flying across the room.

  • Oh wait... I probably just insulted the guy who posted this video :D

  • He looks like he's just sick of the same mundane questions from arseholes for the past 12 years haha

  • @JestersOfTheMoon true, but you know.. smiling for hours is a hard job xD

  • he such a liar! rofl. he hates his life! and is horribly sick of having the same conversation and saying the same shit and getting asked the same stupid questions for the past 10 years. i'm suprised he hasnt snapped yet lol but it definately shows in this vid and the interviews that he secretly despises his role...but for some reason he still sticks around...i think outside of the con, he's probably a sad loner and comes for the attention

  • @WeskJago

Oh he snapped. Sort of. This one guy had a really awkward interview with him.

  • 12 years later ofcourse he will look different!

what kind of question is that?

    'you looked different?'

    argh!!

  • I feel his pain. It must be tough to appear in such a big movie (that he clearly doesn't care about in 2009) and then have to stand there a placate idiot nerds for hours on end just to make a few bucks.
