  • I was very fortunate to have been able to pay my respects to this fine officer by marching in the procession as a volunteer with St. John Ambulance that day. It was overwhelming to see the support from the public as well as the various other emergency services that travelled from different regions (some as far as the US).

I will never forget that day and the great officer that we lost. But as the Peel Regional Chief of Police stated "he was a hero in life not in death." Rest easy cons

  • I love the police, It's so sad how they get killed, and I think it's horrible when people say pig and stuff like that. They are here to protect and to serve.

  • Thank you for posting this video.. and for allowing people to comment.. the people must be allowed to speak, regardless if what they say is controversial.. my colleagues are in this video.. and they are good people doing the right thing for the right reasons.

  • Hi LegalGraffitiArt and thanks for your comments.

I tell you, it was difficult to approve tsixles's comment on here. But you summarized precisely how I feel.

"the people must be allowed to speak"

  • Hi canuck101,

What you write is very true. But the saddest thing is, I now regret having allowed comments at all.

Our Peel Regional Police lost one of their own and we get people... never mind...

  • To tsixles - You're clearly angry at Police because you've been arrested more times then you can count, and got backdoored in jail. When you die you won't be able to fill a livingroom, unlike this hero that had thousands attend his funeral. You're an embarassment to the human race!

  • reece5412 RE your ? Who pays for all these people....

I know I took time off work & paid my own way so I'm down $s to honour 1 of our fallen! and I'm not the only 1 by far....directive came out making sure all knew there would be no reimbursement....public safety is always retained & off duty officers attend or others make arrangements to be off duty!....it's a matter of compelling respect & a very small sacrifice of time & $s to show we CARE in life & in death

  • lizwiz6952, Thanks for clearing the matter of "who pays" up.

I'd like to think taxpayers (and people like reece5412 forget that police officers also pay taxes) picked up a good portion of that "bill".

    Why?

Because like you, I believe that "it's a matter of compelling respect & a very small sacrifice of time & $s to show we CARE in life & in death."

  • Who pays for all these people to be off duty and flying around the country attending funerals?

  • Re: "Who pays for all these people to be off duty and flying around the country attending funerals?"

    We do.

Just like we pay police to risk their lives to serve and protect us when they could be chickening out and be safe at home with their families (which would be my chickeny-inclination).

  • another PIG from Toronto's fascist SS army is dead.

    I am celebrating with champagne!!!

    Smiles everywhere.

    Die pigs die!!!!

  • I thought long and hard about whether to approve your comment.

Decided to for two reasons. One, this is a free country and you're free to make your noises.

But mostly so that people may understand what our police have to put up with. Every day.

  • R.I.P Constable James Ochakovsky. Hate it when Officers who Protect and Serve us Die.
