I think its the new vizios that are made cheap. I had bought mine back in 05 for 899.99 ( 32") and its still working. Now you can get a 32" for 329.99 must be cheaper parts or something.
i have a different problem, but i know wut is wrong with yours. the weird thing going on means that there are either flourescent light somewhere near, or that there is a different interference that is disrupting the tv.
Vizio's kick ass . I don't know what you guys are doing to your tv's. I have had mine for 2 years now. I use it to run my cpu , playstation 3, dvd and watch regular tv. I run it 24/7 and have never had a problem with it.
DO NOT BUY A VIZIO FROM WALMART. If you buy a Vizio Get it from sears our any where else.Walmart sales the T.V.'s that companies throw out. I got a 47" Vizio From a Swap Meet in 08' and it's still performs just like new.
I had the same problem. It took me a while but I figured it out. It turns out to be an overheating issue. The problem is that the power supply to the tv doesn't have adequate ventilation, and all that heat gets trapped inside the unit, causing all the internal components to overheat. I fixed it by installing a small USB powered fan inside near the power supply to cool it down and blow out the heat. Only took me 30 minutes. Now it works like a charm.
My concern with this fix is whether or not it worked normally before you had to rig a fan to it.
This means it's possible some component parts had already been damaged by the heat. Actively keeping them cool will lengthen the life of the affected parts, but they've become marginal. The parts might or might not fail in the future; hard to tell.
All I can say is that if it stays working, great. But don't be surprised if it breaks again.
Those parts needed cooling before the problem started.
