is because the h3 is designed with a higher gear ratio than most SUVs out on the market. As the gear ratio gets higher, then the overall speed of the car increases, but the acceleration decreases. Also combined with the fact that the car weighs about 2.5 tons, and also because it is always in four wheel drive, the h3 has a very slow acceleration.

So because of those four reasons....the engine, the gearing, the weight, and the 4WD, it makes it very obvious why the car is relatively slow.

The reason that this vehicle has like no balls is because that GM put a 3.5 liter inline 5 cylinder in this vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I love the h3, and have always liked the 5 cylinder engine, but it is just a little too much weight for the smaller engine to accelerate. Although the inline 5 packs a decent amount of horsepower for it's size (about 222 at 5600 RPM), if you want the REAL power, get the H3 alpha with a 5.3 v8 engine.
