I tried this (using Vegas pro 9) and the max speed up i can get using this method seem to be 4x

i have a hour long clip that needs to be played back in 60 seconds or less. I guess i should be creating a new clip by grabbing say 1 frame in every 30 from the original. Anyone know how to do this ?

Get Acid Express! It's really good for audio, I used to use it but then damm computer crashed, anyway, worth it!

spudd ~~~ Go to options - preferences - editing - and you can uncheck "preserve pitch , thats all i know for now. It still tends to cut out the audio and not speed it up to the funny point like windows media maker. I am sure there is a way but I haven't figured it out yet

the only way I know of is to publish the whole movie, than open it back up in the program as justone clip and just do this to that. Sorry I'm not sure of any faster ways

Just to correct you, to slow down the track, you gotta do the opposite of what you did.. meaning you gotta drag OUT :P

Same with speeding up clips.. vice versa

check out my video on Forza 2 on my Smoke n Flow vol 2 and you can see that i have this lag too...ive fixed that lag by making sure that the clip was slowed down to little...so i made the clip even more smalled and slowed it more by alot and the lag went away...try that
