  • Delightful! I agree with hawkfan... "haunting"

  • what a wonderful flute sound!!!!

  • I have forgotten how mystical Taegum was, living in the States for so long. I've been listening to Native American flute and just ordered one. Both Taegum and Native American flute have deep spiritual ancient sound. Wish I could buy Taegum and try.

  • OIWAKE MELODY

  • This sounds so pretty. Knowing the legend behind the Korean flute makes listening to the sound even more haunting.

  • Could you tell me what the legend is lol I'm a sad excuse for a Korean I guess I've been Americanized.

  • 1400 yrs ago Shilla dynasty, there was a little mountain on the East sea in Korea. That mountain had a strange bamboo, which was divided into 2 parts during the day time and put together into 1 bamboo at night. King Shinmoon, who was curious, made a flute out of the strange bamboo. After making sound with this bamboo flute, many miraculous things happened -recovering from illness, passing the enemy, raining in a drought, holding up the flood.

  • very delicate sound. his sound brings me to a meditation.

  • Does anyone know whether there are any Taegum teachers in the general DC area???

    Thanks

  • how about in New York??

    i cant find any either

  • I totally forgot and I need to do this myself but a good idea might be to contact the Cultural Center at the Korean Embassy in your area and they might give you a lead. Good luck...:)

  • ty for this tip

  • Very nice piece...it transports me to some remote location out in the countryside of Korea or China among some misty mountais. Funny, I've never been fortunate enough to visit either one of these contries but from paintings paintings i've seen, this is the feeling this piece conveys to me.
