TD did still good stuff like "Mojave plan", "logos", "sphinx lightening" or the Poland concert 20 mn parts as before which contains some of the best sequencing parts they ever made (just contains maybe some new sounds that some can dislike), until the departure of Johannes Schmoelling, this artist was maybe the best choice of replacement for peter Baumann, even if he was the one...

@silverstartrucker But "uniquelly" the sound do not does the music. First music is concept. When Baumann was in Tangerine Dream, and until 1983, Tangerine Dream had concept : they wanted a mystical surrealist world, and they used apropiated recurses. Later the concept was dawn, so the music went too.

I like how Peter Baumann manages to achieve a dark, even angsty mood. I remember Playland pleasure managed to scare me once when I was little xD

I think Baumans first LP Romance from 76 is the best one, the problem TD etc is that they all the time should have the new Tecnolgy, I can't understand why no Froese makes an album like in the 70th ( I like all TD material from the 70th, then it's awfull.

But respect for Froese since he still records records

He said 70's Tangerine Dream is their best period... agreed. Anything they did from the mid 80's onwards was very poor. Their last good album was probably "Exit". But their 70's period of songs that last 20 minutes of looped sequences is their stronger work.

@asteroids1979 - I'd echo that. I do however feel that after Exit there are moments of great music here and there, up through Underwater Sunlight, though not with the prime consistency of the earlier works, no. When Chris Franke left, that really was it for TD to me.
