  • ti posso chiedere dove hai comprato il PC? Grazie

  • @olivermbs

    ciao, principalmente su tiburcc.it

  • Slow man slow!!! i got two corsair 120GB and its much faster!!!

  • WOW thats was slowly

  • SSD's are stupid right now get 3 HDD's for the same price and its way way way faster in RAID 0

    ...im just saying

  • @jonbobizal only as long as you have a proper Raid Controller Card! onboard raid controllers are software controllers and not actually hardware controllers meaning you'll lost about 40-60% of your power (speed)!

  • lol it is too fast but you don´t have lot of programs

  • videos proof nothing a empty windows and a clean down in "stander programma`s" and a nice balance in the register can speed up 500% faster than normal standerd speed. So fail vid. Empty windows will proof nothing compare a daily use "program/game machine" < program and game setup is also defrend between them so short word this proof nothing.

  • It seems that every Raid setup I see is slow at booting windows. IN a way, it makes sense that there are more devices to detect at BIOS, but from "Starting Windows", it took like 17 secs. My single SSD non-Raid setup boots in 10-11 seconds to windows 7. After pouring tons of programs into it, it slowed to about 14 seconds. But yours looks pretty empty.

  • I do that with my Samsung spinpoint F1 bought for 100 dollar 2 years back

  • You have two SSDs in RAID, yet your #1 boot priority is from a CD.....

I'm ordering six 128GB drives to put in RAID 0 on my new SATA III mobo, can't wait!

I'll put up a video when I can

  • O.O

  • install some programs, and then do this boot up

even my old PC XP Pro booted up in 20 sec after fresh install =)

  • OK MABY U GUYS DONT KNOW WHAT A SSD IS ?

y have couple of intel ssds in my pcs .

on hdd u have to w8 even after u booted up , with ssd u boot u use imediatly , u dont w8

  • @TheMRamstaff just ordered the X-25M 120 Gb ssd from newegg for 200 bucks.

  • I have a crappy HDD sata II, and youre just 2 seconds faster than me :P

  • ok now put normal user programs, anti virus, firewalls, and normal user trash, everything is fast when u have a clean installation.....

  • My revodrive is faster =)

  • Luca! Your boot is one of the fastest I have seen! how did you configure Win 7 to achieve that fast boot..?

Besides doing the RAID 0 I mean.... did you disable the registry indexing, disable almost all start up programs, Did you uninstall everything from your start up folder? You look like you have a super super clean Win 7 install...

I know its a lot of questions but I was just wondering if you could enlighten us a little bit on the situation... Thanks bro

  • @dalesalsa I think he has done this test when he has just installed 7, downloaded + installed nothing, and then configured the raid and so on. Cause thats freaking scary. :D

  • very nice...

what is the block size that you have set up if you don't mind me asking?! Thanks man...

  • very nice... what is the block size that you have set up if you don't mind me asking?! Thanks man...

  • Your boot is not done when you say done.

If you look at your system tray icons load after you put the done comment in.

So your boot actually takes longer then u said. And functionality of it will still be slow until all services are loaded.

So yes u can click the start menu and stuff but it will still be slower for awhile.

personally boot times shouldn't matter. wait 20 sec or a min. who cares.

  • Since this video has comment approval, you can dissaprove my previous: I just measured my boot time using my watch. It takes about 25 seconds for my PC (7200 RPM HDD) to boot (from grub to fully logged in using Ubuntu 10.10)

This means my 7200 RPM HDD is a little bit slower than your drive.

By the way, it's not my vid but here's another video with another (SSD) PC doing the same: watch?v=2WoZf3H80pM

  • lol my single ssd is faster than that (but its a more recent one: OCZ Vertex 2 Sandforce 120gb)

  • io ho un semplice hdd 7200 rpm wd, ma quando ho installato windows 7 e lo ho riavviato è stato se non più veloce quasi.. considerando che programmi installati non ce ne sono, mi sembra un po' lento

  • How many processes are you running on startup?

  • Sure it's fast but you had nothing set to start with the computer

  • 20 seconds? WOW. And I was happy with my 1 minute.

  • To be honest, it depends on the read/write of the SSD. You can get some SSD's that are the same as HDD's. But obviously, when you get an SSD you are going to get a HDD that has ridiculous speeds.

  • same here my 7200rpm hdd boots up as fast as your ssd

  • First buy a ssd and try it in every day use with programs , games and cetera , and then write stopid coments . Cuz there is no diference

  • hum mine takes about the same lenght XD

    all the same messages....bah

  • @LucaZPFYT

Not my PC but here you go: watch?v=2WoZf3H80pM&feature=related

I have a HDD, my PC takes a little more than 20 seconds to boot.. (From grub till logged in) (22s or something like that)

  • I have a single SSD 128 GB from Kingston ... it boots faster than that

  • Try booting up something called windows xp gamers edition on any computer with at least 512mb of ram, or maybe even less, with no applications, it literally takes less then about 3 seconds to boot up, from the time you press the power button on your pc to going in to the screen with icons.

  • over a year that 5 seconds a day must really add up.

  • @3lectricMonk its not just the boot, every application you start is almost instant there.

  • useless, you pay 600.00$ for two drives and you get faster loading/booting times, im not that impatient. SSD's are for rich folks that are wired and cannot wait 5 more seconds. I have an SSD 60Gb Intel that was given to me for testing and the only thing that caught my attention was how snappy it is when it comes to opening apps. Other than that they are not worth the price unless you have cash to wipe your ass with.

  • @maiky3838 its snappy at loading applications, improving loading times in applications, increases internet speed, since internet speed could be linked to your computer's hardware too, improves loading times for almost everything, and depending on your definition of rich, i'm pretty sure some middle class people could afford them, like successful businessmen, doctors, engineers. Even teenagers with jobs, since they don't have to worry about any taxes, and earn at least 150 per two weeks.

  • 1 or 2 more years they gonna be way cheaper for at least 500gb prices already going down pretty fast.

  • Honestly, my regular HDD is just as fast booting up.

  • @Eursavion That's bullshit! Maybe if you had like 4 of them in RAID 0 but even one SSD would slap any HDD you have!

  • @Eursavion

    - words

    + videos!!

  • @Eursavion But its not as fast at loading programs and game etc. You fail to see the advantage in SSD's.

  • @Eursavion **cough BS

  • huh, 18 seconds. try ubuntu 10.04

boots up in 20 seconds on a 5400 rpm sata hard drive

  • @mikurej95 That's great that Ubuntu can boot in 10 seconds. But you'll run into a problem if you want to install and use industrial grade software such as Adobe CS5 and Maya 2011. With hacks you could install older versions of Adobe. Installing Maya is possible but difficult.

If you're web surfing + word processing Ubuntu is fine.

The machine in this video has 2 SSD on RAID 0, 12GBs RAM and a i7 940 so its probably going to be doing some serious work. IMO bootup around 35secs is acceptable.

  • I envision a day when we'll just ... turn-on the computer, like we turn-on the television. :)

  • very nice! :)

  • 1 absolutely major question, whats your window 7 rating on your hhd?

  • @eliden

    7.9 :)

  • @LucaZPFYT hey there how do i enable 64mb chache? my hardrive is 64 and i have win7 64 and when i go into bios it says 32mb enabled, and i dont see anything like enable 64mb its just enable or disable. how do i get it to work?

  • @eliden mine is funny rateing 6.7 7.4 6.9 6.9 6.9

  • go into the msconfig and startup without the gui, should be faster.. maybe

  • sorry but what is RAID0 ???

i'm guessing the hard drives are linked or something

  • @GamePlayUpload

RAID means redundant arrays of independent discs, so yes the Two SSD's are linked. The 0 refers to the way they are linked, the south bridge on your mother board handles your hdd's, sdd's and in a raid0 configuration the information on your is saved to both drives, half on one half on the other, but it is basicly faster.

  • dude coould you make a comparison video / one SSD vs SSD in RAID0/

  • my ssd raid0 is faster than your...

  • Raids and SSD are awesome, but they are still expensive though.

  • Just to ruin the fun for you - My 1 1/2 years old machine, with a 7200rpm/32mb cache HDD and the Win7-Partition on it,boots up a fresh installation just as quick as your precious, expensive (good lord, for what purpose? lol) SSD raid 0 config. :P

  • Ok, i tested this. I have a regular 500gb something hdd and it was 3 seconds of this sdd. :S

  • its not done until all the programs have started

  • What's the name of the song. My little brother likes it.

  • @Cokecanninja

Down by law - i wanna be ( in AC/DC)

  • @LucaZPFYT Thanks.

  • lol thats impressive, but i think it would be faster if they didnt make you wait for the windows logo on startup.

  • @Zacq768 Then do a no GUI boot. Start>Run>"msconfig". Under the boot tab, click the No GUI boot option. When Windows loads, it will NOT show the Windows logo, or any type of loading bar. It will just load. This should shave seconds off the boot time.

  • @Zacq768 Another thing that can speed up the boot up sequence,if you have a dual, tri, quad or even hexa-core cpu -> Windows button+R,"msconfig"(enter)->"BOOT"->Advanced options->"Number of Processors" (Tick the box and select the number of cores that you wish to use for the boot up),reboot.Look at the result :p

  • @Assasinchen2006

    Cool sounds good.

I wonder why they wouldnt automatically do that anyway?

    Thanks man.

  • a system i just sold booted faster, around 7 seconds,

  • hehe,. nearly as fast as my laptop.. 12 seconds.. Haha even Vista boots faster than this on my lappy:) No offense..

  • not fast.

  • bello!!

  • Its not fast at all, even single SSD without RAID 0 wil perform same way.

  • This isn't fast... My WD Caviar Black 2TB loads a new windows in 8.83 seconds. But nice SSD's!

  • Oh! There is thefastest SATA hard drive in the whole world. It's a WD hard drive. It has 10,000 RPM. Also I think that you are using Windows 7. If your hard drive is faster then SSD then great! SSD is very expensive and have much lower storage.

  • @MSWindows30

No,my isn't fast. :) There's lots of videos here in youtube with faster boot times. And SSD is really faster when you read or write files. There is the real difference between HDD and SSD.

Btw you have some brutal gaming system! ;)

  • hahaha, I don't have a gaming system. I'm interested in computers. I choose my computer hardware wisely. I want to get the best and new tech. However, i'm concern about the cost and the quality of it.

  • WOW! Your computer is a thumbs up! Boot so fast and your have the new tech!

  • I have almost the same booting time, with normal samsung 750 GB F1 HDD.

    Price/Peformance/Capacity ? you lose

  • My Caviar black 640gb boots that fast, i timed it at 14 seconds from the same point as you.

Not worth the money at this point in time are they.

  • SSD IN raid 0 ON instalation on Crysis did beat my WDC 64mb cache?

  • pretty good

  • eh for the price they cost its not worth it at all

  • @PSXGAMER22 Tech will fix price points pretty soon. .I still wouldn't use one as a long term back up solution over a HDD. Unfortunately, I have the habit of drop kicking my computer almost daily. When I dig through the shards of twisted debris I usually find my HDDs in reasonable shape. They allow me to retrieve pretty much all of my data even if I get bored and bounce them off my walls too. I'm probably wrong but HDDs seem a bit more durable and allow physical retrieval of important data...

  • You peeps saying HHD is faster than SSD are full of shit. RAID O with an SSD config is twice the speed of the fastest HHD's on the market. It's a solid state drive, there are no moving parts...

  • my gskill ssd 128gb boot faster than that with a bunch of programs, games and antivirus installed not a clean installation like this one. it's all about the tweaking

  • lol not much faster than my sata 2 drive, also CPU and RAm also help the boot time NOT just HDD

  • SSD is faster and safer, it stores data on chips instead of discs.

  • Comment removed

  • SSD is going be faster than HDD, but it's even faster if you don't have any applications on your system either.

  • Does Trim support Raid 0
