Whats the headphone jack latency thing all about on the Yeti, can someone explain it all to me like why is it good and does it effect quality? The mic sounds great just need to know a few things before i dive in.
I have a Yeti, it comes with no software, plugs straight into the computer no problem. I really like the sound and I upload staight acoustic guitar through it. I can sing along and the sound is excellent. Something to look into, for my purposes, is the Yeti Pro. You can use both USB or a standard jack, so you can get a double use.
the AT was a bit louder as far as gain but the Yeti had better quality. Can't wait to get mine tomorrow! Paid 89 for it. I think it's at 92 now. (Amazon)
Only reason 2020 sounded better is because he put the SORRY ASS SNOWBALL before it ! Any mic would sound better after hearing that sorry ass excuse for a microphone
Hey man great video :) I might be getting a new Mic just to recorde my voice. Do you know a good one that is noise cancelling but not too much money. Thanks
at2020 to me sounded way better, also the yeti picks up other sounds, say you have other electronics on your desk and they're humming, the yeti will pick it up.
@tldtoday for micing high gain guitar amps; Audio Technica AT2020 USB or the snowball. where i live the yeti is way more expensive than the 2020 or the snowball, i cant afford it.
@Johnnzey Really? Guess I'm not the only one with that on their Christmas list! And for the same reasons too! I love mine! The snowball is hard to beat with its cheap price and amazing quality. :D
@Dibxmonkey It may be a little quieter. But for me, it works fine. It could be that he wasn't close enough to the mic. Mine sits right next to me and works great. I've even tried some voice acting with it and added different kinds of filters to it. Didn't sound bad at all. I recommend looking at some other videos/audio samples. Still a great mic even if it is a little softer. :)
how would the audio technica do in, say, a home music recording situation? If I wanted to mic a guitar amp or overhead some drums, maybe a bass amp, how would it handle it? I've heard you can just lower the input volume to prevent distortion, but I wanna make sure it's decent before I get it.
Im a profesional musician and like better audiotechnica. Audio technica has clear bas, fuller bas, and recording of it has that soft gentle, warm sound. Jeti is more for higher spectar and have more sharper, direct, brighter sound.
Hey, I'm thinking about getting the yeti! Long debate but I need a mic. If I were to record instruments like the guitar like you showed or a saxophone would I need an instrumental mic? P.s youre cute :)
The At2020 is pulling away from the Yetl in Amazon sales. In fact, Blue appears to be languishing. The blew a wad on mics for The Flip, and then the parent company declared the camera dead. Next, they came to market with Mikey 2, which by the company's own admission is incompatible with the iPod Touch 4g or iPhone 4. Finally, they've removed the THX designation from the Yetl. It could be that this market has maxed out.
I wonder when audio technica is going to fix the spray process on their mics, that ugly black speckling is really annoying to see, especially what what it costs.
@TheMusicman429 The yeti is pretty good for the price. The thing i like is that it comes with everything you need. I'll try to do a song with it if you want. I'm going to be getting the at2035 in a few days. Going to be XLR though. A lot of extra equipment to buy.
@AmbrillaMusic Generally for rapping / anything vocal, you're gonna wanna be recording through the "Stereo" type of recording. The Yeti is the only mic out of these 3, whom holds the option for Stereo recording.
@AeonFlexMusic I can't tell if that was a statement or a question, but If it was a question it depends on how much money you're willing to spend. For $100.00 you can get as I said earlier you can get a producer USB which is pretty good, or for $150.00 you can get the AT2020 which I consider the second best in the three hundred dollar price range behind the Rhode Podcaster. Also you have to consider that you'll buy a new stand and a pop filter for said mic.
@HeadshotHotHead yeah it was a question and thanks I already bought the yeti, but I just realized that my realtek audio manager doesn't support it sooo yeeeeeaaah lol.
@AmbrillaMusic The song Officer Chip on my channel was recorded with a "Blue Snowball". It's a pretty good interpretation of what this mic can do. Good for Home Demos.
im not sure which one because the at2020 sounds the best but the price i dont like even though the yeti has more options so its more worth it but the snowball is the cheapest LOL
I'm leaning towards the Blue Yeti but also looking at the MXL USB.009 just because Captain Sparklez uses the MXL, he sounds pretty damn good with it and I will be doing game commentary like him but also want to record songs over instrumentals.
I only have a laptop as well so I am not sure what to do and what else has to be purchased to get things started.
Hope i don't sound like a noob but can some kind soul answer this? I would like to get stuff from amazon for cheaper but will the stuff be in good condition and not broken?
@LyricalGunFire Right first off, All products on Amazon are in New condition (if bought as new) sealed in their origonal packaging. Second, It has an open review system so if anything was wrong with a product it would be shown in peoples negative reviews. Finally, all products come with a money back 100% gaurentee so if you do find a problem with a product you can send it back and get a full refund.
The Yeti or the Audio Technicaboth have a contemporary sound and so would have to be first choice but I kinda loved the more unique sound of the Snowball. I think it's best to get both.
@RaDZiCaLProDucTioNZ I have a Yeti and it's the best mic I've ever owned. If you watch a couple of my latest videos you can hear what it sounds like, even at a distance of five feet.
when im recording my voice in audacity with blue snowball, my voice is so low that i can barely hear it. but when im on skype, it is good... why cant i record good sound with fraps, audacity and many other recording programs??? please help me!
Audacity is great software for free but it does not do well for professional recording. Buy a good professional software program to get better results. Did you adjust the button at the back of the Blue snowball??? ! It should be adjusted to Number 3 if you are going to record about a foot away. :)) thanks! :))
@pmarquesf id say the yeti beause you could hear yourself as you record. as a rapper/singer i find its always good to have that feature so you know where in the beat you are in RealTime so you dont skip pace. hope i could help(:
3)Im No Professional but IHave researched for weeks on this Product and I Can tell you
NO Its is not worth £100 Extra ...Unless you Are using it for Professional Purposes Like Business ,But Im Getting Mine As I Make Tutorials For youtube. Also It Is Said Alot by Buyers Of the Pro Version that It Had No Improvment Over there Previous Normal Version.Hope this Helped,An Extra Sub Would Be Great!
I am a YouTube commentator and I want to buy a new microphone. I currently use my turtle beach for commentaries and want to know if the Yeti is the way to go if I want a more professional sound.
