hmm im a city alt, so i dont see as much of this, actually at all. however, i do have three country schools and because we are surrounded by either mountains or ocean, some of our rice fields are in the mountains lol. but yes, not only do they use every inch of flat ground, they also jam pack it in! rice fields are pretty!!! and now i want to road trip somewhere!!!!
living in the second most inaka prefecture in japan, i definitely know how rural it can be... i think some bluegrass music would be pretty appropriate here.
