Chad, i would like to have some in-depth discussions about your wolverine- line of survival machete's, I just think the design and idea are so great i have come up with a few minor alterations to your core design, for my self, and I will be building
a couple as soon as my arm is healed and useable agian. just got some questions and a few ideas I'd like to share with you. if you respond to this perhaps we could chat via facebook or something?
nice knife, good design on sheath. maybe add a thumb snap retaining strap @ 2:20. I like Hi-vis panel/molle-alice/belt loop idea. Its about survival not tacti-cool.
Have you looked at the knife tests forum and their knife destruction videos? They test knives in a series of increasingly more extreme substances to cut/chop/baton. Then he makes a forum thread on the results and posts the videos on his youtube channel.
envirosponsible, congrats on making your own knife/machete. I'm glad you attempted to make a knife you think is best for your use; certainly steps further than others. That being said, to make a respectful comparison, how does a Cold Steel Kukri Machete with some minor mods compare to your Wolverine? I could be wrong, but it seems your design would eventually evolve to the CS Kukri machete design over time, to maximize chopping, forward weight, minus the serrations.
Whatever community you find yourself in, you will be an invaluable asset. Every video I have watched of yours is a learning experience. Thank you very much.
GO ahead and change the chopping angle first, and then beat the crap out of it. It's the only way to give us a proven tool. Do not worry about how pretty it is. Prove it tough. Show us the ugly proven tool. How it wears is important! Then give us a good price!

Im glad Ryan you are thinking about what you want a knife to do and designing your own. So many knives are simply clones of others.

Great work! Reminds me of the fiskars vesuri (billhook) I brought back from Finland. It is a formidable brush clearing tool.

The look is not important, what is important is how it preforms.
