Is there anyway to completely eliminate the snare from vibrating when hitting the bass so that you don't hear it at all when tapping the center of the cajon, and yet keep the snare fully engaged so that it is heard clearly when hitting the upper face of the cajon?
if you dampen the snare with the right hand it gets rid of most of the snare.
Changing the pressure and amount of snare wire that touches the hitting surface will help definition, but this makes the snare sharper/brighter and shorter in the length of note.
