The Russians bought Britain time to get into full swing (undeniably with huge amounts of aid in the form of food, weapons and equipment from the USA) and get their troops in from the Empire to face the Germans. They were already screwed when the USA actually sent troops although this influx of US troops definately sped up the process!
The Russians were the ones who made it possible to beat the Germans because if Britain had surrendered I'm not sure if the USA would have got involved
I can't really contest that. In truth the Germans (at first) took on two super powers (The British and French Empires) with the hope of taking out their home regions before the might of the whole empire could get into full swing. Once they failed to invade Britain they were in trouble. They then made the fatal mistake of taking on another superpower (Russia) that hat the ability to mechanise their entire armed forces VERY fast!

In tora bora 2001 a british squad of SBS had sighted a convoy that likley had osama in and got into a position in such a way that they would engage. They requested permission to engage but the americans refused telling them to wait for US forces to arrrive. By the time they arrived Osama had fled to live for another years. Well done America.

The Russians bought Britain time to get into full swing (undeniably with huge amounts of aid in the form of food, weapons and equipment from the USA) and get their troops in from the Empire to face the Germans. They were already screwed when the USA actually sent troops although this influx of US troops definately sped up the process!
The Russians were the ones who made it possible to beat the Germans because if Britain had surrendered I'm not sure if the USA would have got involved

I can't really contest that. In truth the Germans (at first) took on two super powers (The British and French Empires) with the hope of taking out their home regions before the might of the whole empire could get into full swing. Once they failed to invade Britain they were in trouble. They then made the fatal mistake of taking on another superpower (Russia) that hat the ability to mechanise their entire armed forces VERY fast!
