Not unlike Kim Jong Il controlling all of North Korea's media.

One thing that'd ve cool though, would to take a vacation in north korea after it has collapsed and go through all the secret bunkers, weapons depots, military bases, cities, etc.
If they could interview an average NK citizen, and the persons says they don't like it and want to leave, then that person and their family are shipped to a death labor camp where they are starved tortured and worked until they die. Would the interviewer care about this result? What benefit would it be? Even if you can interview someone they won't answer honestly if they value their life and their families lives. How can the media not know this?
Even if the journalist could ask the avg. citizen how they felt about the gov. controlling every aspect of their lives, how could he expect much of an answer when that is all they know? They have no other way of life to compare to. They have not tasted freedom to know how sweet it is.
Well actually, when North Koreans defect from the country (Pyongyong, more specifically), they always say that they miss North Korea and that they didn't seem to enjoy the freedoms as much as westerners would expect.
"Always" is a strong word and usually inaccurate when generalizing about ppl. "Often" or "Sometimes" would be more accurate, sot I doubt every single defector wants to return to NK. Also the desire to return probably is more complex than just being disillusioned about the West. There is family & friends they miss. There`s prejuidice in SK. There`s lang. barriers in other countries. It`s probably not about NK being better but more about lonliness and isolation.
I know, always is a strong word. But generally, the "freedoms" that westerners speak of so much, is not needed for the Average North korean. You could safely say that they lead lives as happy as any other westerner (besides the people dying from hunger, though)
It is hard to say if they`re more/less/or the same in happiness as others when their country is closed & we can`t get an open honest dialogue w/the avg. ppl. I would agree that the "freedoms" probably are not the big issue here but the oppression & corruption in gov. If ppl have a home, they are generally happy. But if ppl have to watch their words & trust no one lest 3 generations of family end up in a labor camp, that is misery. Yet ppl often choose misery over lonliness & separation.
With all due respect I don't know what books you are reading. Most say they don't enjoy the technology as much (I.E. cars, TV, music players) but they enjoying eating food because of the famine most of them have gone through

It's true that they seem to have a hard time adjusting to individual autonomy after a lifetime in slavery, but they don't seem to want to go back to having no control over their lives.

FUCK AMERICA!!!! PUSSIES!!!!
America has no balls!!!
Israel, China and Russia tests their weapons systems regularly and they all have arsenals of nuclear bombs and America says nothing?? Pussy America only target a small country!!!
The only reason that america doesnt respond to Israle, China and Russia using Nuclear weapons is because they are the U.S' allies. These are also stable countries. North Korea on the other hand threatens to use these weapons and is know to be unstable. Our allies, the South Koreans and the Japanese would be in immediate threat if North Korea decided to use its weapons.
what and you have the balls to take on a country? Your such a stereotype of people only having the balls to critisize and show an argument on the internet
if it was up to the american ppl we would do something about this but unfortunatly the government does not bolong to the ppl anymore its becomed corruped and control by the globalist.
north korea is like a cancer to the rest of the world and shame to humanity. but it's too dangerous to treat it because it might explode. we are in a morass. but invading korea won't be a solution, cuz then it would embroil china in the war and destroy the balance in the far east.
The key to ending this problem is in invading North Korea. Jim Jong Il lets his people live like crap (those who dont starve to death), while he imports fine booze and sexy foreign hookers for pucking.
The problem is that the USA is starting to be like North Korea, we are monitor all the time with our personal lives, with social secutiry they know everything you do, the police is always checking on you if you have tickets, ect. The suppose "free country" is not so free after all.
Has anyone ever thought how fuck-ugly Nk's uniforms are? I meen, If I took a shit on a shirt, and a pair of pants. Then put a little red dye on the side we'd have North Korean armour wears...
North Korea has just recently rejected U.S. food aid, eventhough NK depends largely on foreign food (some "self-reliance"!). I wonder how long North Korea can keep up like this!
The problem is an invasion of NK could trigger Chinese response. The two countries do have a defence pact, you know. However, if NK were to invade the south, it'd be unlikely the Chinese would come to their aid and might even boycott them. Maintaining status quo is in China's interests
Eventually in time this chokehold will be broken but only when the western world realizes the huge paranoia the DPRK has towards foreign aggression whether real or not. The key is building positive relationships with the government of the DPRK, hopefully sooner rather than later.
The inner would of N. Korea reminds me of the world of Halflife 2- sad, bleak, hopeless oppression. It's a country under siege by a ruthless organized crime family no better than Saddam Hussein's.
Brainwashed by whom? The media, our universities, our major corporations, some churches, the east coast, and the west coast are madly in love with the guy! Anyway, I was only half-serious. Barry will screw the country but he isn't capable of destroying our constitutional republic.

Hopefully, with the failure of the capitalist system, the DPRK will have more allies and not have to keep security so tight.
Kim, do you often comment here on YOutube under this pseudoname? :-) Surrounded by capitalist powers...like China? Anti-communist propaganda? Hell yeah! We've been through it here in Central Europe and it was 40 years of wasting time and ruling of the evil. Communism is the worst dictatorship and has always been so. Not liking the US does not make it necessary to like communism...
hahah you idiot. have you been to China. I have and i can tell you What and that is that China is a free market economy. You confusing the Communist Part of China with China's economic policy. an amateur mistake. so to recap, China= capitalist but is a single part state, and the part just so happens to be called the Communist Part. get it? if not go read a book.
Are you dense or what? China still calls itself communist. They just practice capitalist policies out of convenience, but the state philosophy still aims at creating a communist society and emphasizes core communist concepts like 'dictatorship of the proletariat' 'state ownership' at every turn. And even if it isn't communist, it is still NK's (awkward) friend.
@1tephania I disagree. China is not communist at all and never was. It was maoist, not socialist communist. And NK is juche.(juche is their official state ideology)
Well, I am going to give it to ya that neither China nor North Korea aren't what Communist countries are supposed to be about. But it doesn't change the fact that China once was a hardcore Communist state and that much of its firms are still under state-control. As for North Korea, it is unequivocally Communist in its one-party rule, state ownership of the means of production, etc. Juche is just an icing on the top.
@1tephania It's North Korea's friend of convenience. Calling China communist is like calling Hong Kong communist. The PRC today is home some of the world's largest PRIVATE business conglomerates, and practices a market economy that in many ways is less regulated than most western economies. As for a "dictatorship of the proletariat", you and I both know that Hu Jintao and the Chinese proletariat have extremely little in common.
@1tephania Will you help in electing princess Nancy Pelosi as the new second in command after Kim Jong Un in the DPRK. She would make an excellent assistant dictator. Will you help by sending us money?

Thunderthor1988 3 years ago
Oh, no logical argument, just personal insult.
1tephania 3 years ago
There is no logic in your argument. You are an imbecile. Perhaps if you thought before you wrote, you may have something of substance to say.
Thunderthor1988 3 years ago
I didn't argue for anything, I only stated facts.
1tephania 3 years ago
havn't you embarrassed your self enough already? there is nothing more pathetic than someone who doesn't know when their beat.
Thunderthor1988 3 years ago
I'm beat? You didn't state any facts relating to China that goes against what I said. In fact, you didn't say anything about China at all.

Your fucking retarded...

@1tephania I disagree. China is not communist at all and never was. It was maoist, not socialist communist. And NK is juche.(juche is their official state ideology)

@Danesland

Will you help by sending us money?
koffiekpatcha 1 year ago
I know! They TOTALLY should have talked about how the DPRK is not only a prosperous and efficient nation, but also a beacon of human rights in Asia.
Idiot.

I just can't imagine living there. While there might be some nice scenery, that 'society' is simply horrible.

George Orwells 1984 comes to mind...

I concur with your statement, and am not offended in the least bit. Just slightly embarrassed at my fellow citizens (quite a few of them) lack of reality...
