Love your whole Dawn of the dead part, I agree, I've always loved movies where people are stuck in one spot, It's one of my fanatys, Everyone is dead? Screw it! I got a gamestop, Gun store, And a walmart and im good... Lol But i've never seen a walmart in a mall so I guess I would be fucked.
Hey Flick Pick. I watched the remake of the Hills have eyes the other day... Brutal and raw but really good. Thank you for the tip! Next on my last list is Halloween. I watched it a long time ago but I need a refresher..
i rewatched John Carpenter's Halloween yesterday for the first time in years, and i have to be honest, it was boring and slightly ridiculous...the music is iconic but it's constant and gets annoying especially announcing any scene where Michael Myers arrives. The dialogue was atrocious, the orange "fall" hue was gone on the blu ray transfer, and all those high schoolers looked to be in their 30's. It gets more interesting in the final 30 minutes but i have to be honest i think its overrated
@dreadwing0 hated it and was really let down, the same company made the TCM remake and I was hoping for something well made like that. They made it too much for the MTV crowd.
@theFLICKpick Thats a shame, i enjoyed it but granted that was my introduction to the nightmare franchise. Good to know what you think though, and thanks for responding to my comment :)
It sucks how the Texas Chainsaw remake gets no respect, I tell ya! I respect the original, it for damn sure had an effect not only on Horror but film as well but lets be honest, it's technically a piece of shit. A good piece of shit but still... The remake is a well made film. It's a good horror film and with certain respects... a better made film than the original. So I'm glad you featured it. You are not alone. Others like it too. I have that edition too.
@StuffedBurritoEnt I agree with you on all points, just watch the remake last night and damn that thing was well made and still keeps you on the edge of your seat. Funny thing is it was produced by Director Bay haha. I find the deleted alternate ending to that movie interesting, Im sure you know what Im talking about.
The Serpent and the Rainbow is awesome, love the black magic theme etc! TCM remake is really good, one of the better remakes imo. Dawn of the Dead remake is also very good. I assume the "oops it slipped out" would happen when you were stuck at the mall? Happy Halloween!
i think dawn of the dead remake is better than the original...guilty. I feel the same way about the mall situation too haha ive always thought about that too
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre < The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake) The Remake destroys the Original! Leatherface is a bad ass and not a pussy like he was in the Original. I do like the original, but the remake is way better and scarier!
lol this is off topic but what do you think of the bluray transfer of back to the fututre? I got it recently and i thought it looks good but something seems to be missing
@theFLICKpick You should check it out when you get some time its worth it, i was thinking about doing a halloween review on my channel but i can't narrow down to like 10 movies i have so many that i want to watch i am sure you feel the same, keep up the good work. I review mostly horror and some others if you can give me some feed back that would be great.
Thanks for reminding me of Maximum Overdrive. The first time I watched I was 14.. I watched it again last night and I must say it's 'badly good' and it does smell cheese. Plus there is a small appearance of the man himself S. King. The Hills have eyes is next on my play list.
Nice Halloween watch list! Maximum overdrive is awesome, hilarious...Halloween is def a must watch, activia commercials lol, did u imagine her taking a shit lol...Dawn of the Dead is one of my fav remakes, even tho i hate fast zombies, but w/e i love me some zombies...Nightmare on elm street always freaked me out as a kid..Quit being scared n finish w/e that thing is on the special features lol :P..Happy Halloween John!
@spr12cr Yes I imagine Jame Lee doing a lot of things haha. I actually like fast zombies, more of a threat and less cheese. Those damn special features, Im serious you need to check them out. The damn devil made them.
LMAO why did u just rip haley joel osmand. I dont care i thought it was hilarious by man that was harsh. And I love jason takes manhattan because i used to rent it from blockbuster all the time when i was a little kid, It fucking blows though no denying that.
WHAT ABOUT THE WICKER MAN REMAKE!? One of the best remakes of all time, Nic Cage does one of his best performances "THE BEES", a must watch for movie buffs.
well actually friday the 13th wasint inspired by halloween cause the director just needed a movie to make him some money and it was better then halloween
Hahahahaha " This movie does have Haley Joel Osment, and i hate that little bastard, i wish he was dead, i wish he never existed, And he dosent belong to this earth " XD!!!!
I hardly watch horror movies because it's hard for me to get scared and gore bores me, I'm not easily disturbed. I get tense no problem but I never bothered asking myself or anyone if suspense is a huge thing in horror movies and I didn't bother to look up "horror" until last year so I was somewhat ignorant for years. I really took my time writing this comment because I wanted to be clear and not ramble.
@TyJensenable Yeah gore works sometimes, TCM and The Hills have eyes did a good job balancing it all. But I hate the fact horror films don't really scare me anymore, maybe Im ready for death....
Nice video! Dude, I think Jason's eye was moving when you started mentioning the original Halloween. Have fun sleeping tonight with that thought, haha, lmao
OH SHIT! Not the exorcist, that movie literally made me afraid to go up and down stairs where there were no lights. Now that I'm older that movie is still slightly scary, but at the same time kind of ridiculous.
Great review man! You have similar taste in remakes as myself. I think the worthy remakes are Texas chainsaw, dawn of the dead and hills have eyes. Other mentions would be last house on the left, amityville horror and I spit on your grave.
mine will be..Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Halloween 2 (Remake), Red State, Smash Cut, Halloween 3 (Original), Friday The 13th (Original), Psycho 2, The Hills Run Red, Night Of The Living Dead (Original), The Exorcist... great vid as always man :)
I just re-watched jason takes manhattan last week and man o man. I forgot how bad it was. Still a fun watch. I love part 6 with the james bond opening.
A good film to watch for Halloween is 'The Th13teen Ghosts' that film is quite scary. And they are good picks except The Exorcist, I watched it once and was quite bored with it.
Man, you really would be doing yourself a disservice not to go out and pick up The Exorcist on Bluray. PQ is heads and tails above the DVD. And I'm pretty sure you can pick up the digibook edition at Best Buy right now for 20. Haha, you cut something out talking about the girl in TCM. "I hate that little bastard" hahahahaha. Dawn of the Dead remake is highly entertaining. I share the mall fantasy. I actually like New Nightmare, I know not many people do. Great vid!!
Ahhhhhh, I see you got your video up. Congrats, oh lucky man. I agree on The Hills Have Eyes remake. I'm digging the lighting. I was just thinking about The People Under The stairs earlier tonight. Can you guess what set that thought off? Don't answer that. GD, that mask back there is creeping me out. Man you can't tease with the parody like that!!! Halloween 2 is not my favorite. To be fair, I do need to revisit. I'll prob pick it up on Blu when it hits the 5-8.00 mark.
@TheKrazyJason Yeah I went for a high contrast look in editing, I wanted something more evil. After watching Halloween 2 it just doesn't even compare to 1. Yeah I hated New Nightmare they made all the other movies out to be well just movies and not reality, but some how now in real life he has left the silver screen and is real... I hated the fact they stepped out of the world they already created.
The Hills have eyes remake is one of my all time favorite horror movies. Far superior to the original in my opinion. Not a fan of The Exorcist, find it really slow and boring. I completely agree with you about the TCM remake. I think it is great, I know a lot of people shit on that movie. And damn, Jessica Biel is smokin in that movie. The sixth sense is really good. The NOES series is my favorite horror series. Beats Halloween and Friday the 13th any day in my opinion. Awesome vid!
Yes! Someone else who knows about The People Under the Stairs! I really liked that one. The pitcher from The Sandlot Denunez is the little hero hahahaaha gotta love it.
@marioallstarrr Thanks and its good to be dry, glad you get the humor and the dry tone of it. I need to become more grumpy and start acting like Bill Murray.

I just watched Maximum Overdrive a few nights ago. Such a cheesy classic. Call me a sicko, but I always laugh at the scene where the kid gets crushed under the steamroller. lol
yo you gunna play the new batman game? you should.. just saying. ill watch this video a lil later before i sleep, love you flicky. oh and FIRST YEAH I WIN HAHA

Awesome Jason mask in the background. =-)
I just watched Maximum Overdrive a few nights ago. Such a cheesy classic. Call me a sicko, but I always laugh at the scene where the kid gets crushed under the steamroller. lol
