  • ey alle ham die M-Schürze dran!! Da is der M5-Look ja fast schon mainstream :D

    nich mit mir...

  • I'm planning to buy a 2002 E39 530i with the M Sport Package, as my first car within the next few months.

  • @Anoush13 the 540er is better!! v8 4,4l !!!!!!

  • @IrOn26igb I hear the I6 is much more reliable than the V8's. Plus Insurance and gas mileage will be cheaper with the 530i.

  • @Anoush13 SWEET

  • E39 model has really advance in Tech, but cheaply built compare with LEXUS GS.

most of the surfaces are Painted Plastic, which breaks after years.

Leather is cheap too(7-Series has Premium Leather), peel and fade after years, like Toyota does, not Lexus.

Engine is good but slower response, unless you have a V8

Parts are unreasonably expensive for the car, ie. one shock = $200 (wo labor)

I have more complains, but loved the car when i had it

    -former E39 2000 530i Owner, now own a GS350

  • BMW = Broken Most Weeks

  • I love Beemers. High quality technology.

  • Hmph... Japan designed it did they also engineer it ?

  • Gotta say the E34 is the ultimate saloon - 2nd to last 'proper' BMW - E36 the last - after that just feel the designs lost their way. However i have not driven an E39 and i have heard they are built very well.....great vid!

  • Definitively the 500 series 2002-2003 were better built and quieter than the new series from 2005 on. I have a 2008 528i and it is a lot noisier in the cabin that my previous 2002 530i. The door hinges of the new series are not as tight BMW has changed the tolerances for sure. Close the door of a 2002-2003 BMW vs the newer models and you will hear the difference they are as lose as any American car....

  • It's ironic that what is accepted as the best-looking German sedan ever made was designed by a Japanese man. "German engineering" doesn't come exclusively from native-born Germans. :) Sometimes people are ignorant to this and suppose that American, Japanese, and other cars from different nations are always inferior to the best German cars.

  • The best looking 5 series! I own a 2000 528i Touring that i had for 6 years now. Its in "cosmosschwartz" colour and it still looks just amazing and modern! I contantly have passengers and others rave about how comfortable, stylish and cool it is and we are talking about a design from the mid 90s! I live in Norway and we have extreme conditions especially during the winter but the beemer holds up amazingly. i had no serious problems or big repair bills during my 6 year ownership.

  • I have an old Roundel issue from 1993 showing spy shots of the e39. Hard to beleive that this style is about 20 years old now but still the best 5er. I have had many e34's and e39's. I still have my first BMW of 15 years, an e28 528e. However, its stable mate is a 01 e39 M5 =)

  • I adore my E39. I have an Oxford green 2002 530D SE manual. Quick, effortless and economical too. Its in mint condition, full service history and one previous owner. Glad i found it.

  • Damn e39....does it still look elegant or what? Miss mine...

  • such a fucking cool car!!

  • the e39 is the best looking 4door ever to be made...

I am proud to have a 530d it is really pretty... I bought the estate version cause I think it is prettier but that my opinion...

  • it's a shame, our 13 yr old e39 doesn't have the facelift. :(

  • Please, we all know the Reliant Robin is the superior car.

  • e39 for life

  • ktos sie napracowal zeby poskladac taki filmik ;D duzy plus !!

  • the 1995-2003 BMW 5 Series was assembled in

    Dingolfing, Germany

    Toluca, Mexico

    Cairo, Egypt

    6th of October City, Egypt

    Kaliningrad, Russia

  • 528i I loveee

  • no horsepower drawback

  • bought e39 523i 140.000km perfect condition. called bmw germany for how it coops with gazz installation. they gave green lights to do so. i build gazz installation in the car. until now i drove 20.000km with gazzinstallation. pay e28,- for a 350km ride. on the highway i get 400km out of it. yesterday yearly check at beamer dealer. its had no flaw. i asked what the weakpoint of the car was. "sir, this beamer has no weakpoint". modern gazzintallations are not bad for engine and have no horsepower

  • @trocki80 i would, but it has over 135kW ---> higher taxes and more expensive insurance. And, 530 has higher consumption. All together means quite some money, more than it's worth to have a 530d instead of 525d ;)

  • i have 525da, i just love it, fast, confortable and economical driving, just 6.6 l/ 100 km

  • Good job, man , thumps up.

  • 530d E39 M-Paket Facelift!!!! The Best!!!!

  • i love my 525 tds 1998 e39!!!!the best ever!!!!

  • Driving this car....and I have the basic 6 (not m).....is like being with the most beautiful woman at the bar....all windows open and sunroof back on a country road is better than sex......only regrets......factory 15 inch wheels and no angel eyes..... Both are great upgrades but mucho bucks.......just trucking along with what the good lord.... I mean BMW gave me. Would buy this car over and over again....but make sure you get a model from 2001 forward... (angel eyes and bigger wheels free)

  • @bigfoot1310 thanks :)

  • i have 528i(E39) and love this car

  • I'm buyin' 525d e39, any advice, what to be careful about?

  • Comment removed

  • @ucan92 well make sure its not high mileage. I have an E39 523i which caused no problems apart from the CD stacker in the boot till about 210,000 km, then, all hell broke loose;have gone through multiple ignition coils, radiator and numerous fixes for oil leaks. Others say watch out for electrics. Though the E39 is probably the best car ever (not factoring rolls...); the best balance between ride and handling and you really do feel connected e.g. I never look for my entry speed into a corner

  • @bigfoot1310 I'm thinking of getting an e39 520i. What could be my yearly maintenance costs? I drive 10k kms per year. I already have a good independent bmw mechanic as i currently own an e36.

  • @ash318i I am based in Aus. The service costs I find are a lot more expensive with the main dealer so yeah stick with an independent. My last major service at an independent, where nothing went wrong was I think below 500 AUD. However, should something major wrong be prepared. I have fond the most common problem are ignition coils which cost over 100 each (can't remember exact price). Plus you should know that E39 has a service interval indicator. I found it runs out at abt 20000+km

  • Respond to this video... also note independents may not reset the service meter and with age early maintenance/service is better than the later. Either way at 10,000km each year ur servicing costs shouldnt be 2 much

  • @bigfoot1310 Thanks for your reply. I will try to find one that has been well kept and in mint condition, else i will go for an e46 facelifted.

  • @ucan92 buy 530d :)

  • Owned by mercdes benz

  • I love my e39 540!!! The e39 is one of the best cars ever made! Over 1 and a half million ever made and I'm glad i got to experience it in my lifetime.

  • i fuckin love these cars!

  • PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MUSIC IT WAS AT 6-50 PLEASE

  • PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MUSIC IT WAS AT 6-50 PLEASE

  • BMW E39 IS BEST A MAN CAN GET..... ;)

  • thumbs up if u want ur dream car to be long and musculine.....

I HATE BUGATTI VEYRON BECAUSE IT IS SHORT AND TOY-LIKE

  • I have a 1990 E30 and a 2001 E39 with carbon fiber components and M upgrades. I love em!

  • also die Musik.....Na ja

  • I dislike annoying college kids who drive these with the automatic transmission. they total it a month after their parents buy it.

  • Awesome vehicle, my favourite sedan to this day.

  • proud to drive the 2003 530i m package

  • @MrMets75, fuck off. The E39 is one of the greatest cars on the world. It (along with all BMW models) is a leader in innovation and engineering perfection. If you don't like it, eat a dick.

  • Just selling my 540i Sport now. Great cars but have some horrible rust problems and stupid build problems.

  • The E39 and E38 are the best looking BMW ever made ! timeless design

  • I have an E39 540i V8 6 speed manual...too much power. Oh YEAH!

  • nice looking car, nearly bought one. Prefer my Audi's though. Want me a D1 or D2 Audi A8 quattro. Bmw doesnt exactly do quattro now does it people. Bmw's are great on the motorway and straight roads, but on the roads in wales the Audi comes into its own. Bmw back end slides Audi goes round corners on rails.

  • E34 is superior in design and reliability.

  • have an E39 Msport 525d.....Possibly the most precise car i've owned.

    Comfortable

    Fast

    Sensible

    Economic

    Immense handling

Someone once said "to own a series in this shape (E39) is a no-brainer"

    How true!

  • 528i The be(a)st !!

  • Good God, i have both today my fourth one, love these cars in fact. Im getting tired of things quite fast, cars either.then im buying some other brand for what? To get back only to 5series... This time 528i, whats next? Shall we see...

  • i love my 528i

  • I still got one of these, a 3.0 M-sport auto/semi auto ha-ha he-he, still f'**king fantastic. No plans to change it any time soon.

A great car, with great looks.

    Thanks for the post.

  • Nice BMW no. 1

  • performances, fiabilité et quel regard.

je possède un 525d et tous les jours c'est une joie de la conduire.

un moteur fantastique et une qualité hors norme. elle fait peur dans le rétroviseur.

c'est une relation passionnelle. je l'aime

    bmwophile

  • E39 The best BMW designed by far still looks as good today as it ever did a classic and well built sexy car. Also look on youtube for the hire if your a fan of BMWs well worth a view .

  • The most beautiful saloon ever made! And I have one :-)))

  • the old beautiful bimmers...

  • i own 1 e39 , i had it for years , i still do want to sell it' i'v own so many bmw e30, e36, e46, just love the e39''

  • my car is bmw e39 530d. its the best car ive ever had

  • 523I 2000. 146 000 miles from 1st old owner never pushed. DRIVE IS SO SMOOTH. It really is BEST CAR EVER for me and always BE. I wish i could buy e39 m5 but my litlle dream will never turn up.

  • the e39 up until the current new one...what i it..like F something...came out...i had my e39 since the day it was released in aus...and kept it right through the e60s life....just wasnt BMW :( but finally theyve got their timeless shape back...5 forever :D

  • the e39 series is the best looking bmw, especially the m5. the e39 has a timeless design.

with the e60 bmw made a step back in design. the headlights of the e60 look so bad.

    but thats only MY opinion...

im proud to drive a e39 528i which was built only 30 kilometers from my home ;-)

  • @killthejustice

If you knew how lucky you are (owning an e39 which was made 30 km from your home)

  • @killthejustice Not just your opinion. I just got an E39 and there's a huge contrast between its elegance design and the cheap, tacky look of the E60 and all the newer BMW models.

  • @dananutter congratulations that you got an e39! ;-)

you are right the e60 and all the newer bmw models except the new f10/11 look cheap, especially the interior of the newer models got this tacky look.

i got mine from my parents, they bought it 1996 when it came out and now its mine ;-)

i bought the m-bumpers and facelift headlights and now its looking like a new car.

  • @killthejustice Not just your opinion. I just got an E39 and there's a huge contrast between its elegant design and the cheap, tacky look of the E60 and all the newer BMW models.

  • @killthejustice The headlights on the E60 grow on you after a while. That car really needs the M-sport bodykit or m5 front end to come together nicely. As someone who owned an E39 and currently drive an E60 here is how I slice it. My E39 540i 6-mt was a beast and I loved the simple lines of it. The e60 525i 6-mt I have has a better ride is more fuel efficient and looks like nothing else on the road. Its tough choosing between the two

  • sick car

  • i love this car

  • does ur car stlill fall under best car ever made if its a 528i e39 lmao

  • @glydeuserhelp yes, yes it does.

  • BMW ///M POWER

  • 4:17 there is a leak under the car! Sexy car but it has some problems. : /

  • @christophbs probably air con.

  • Thanks for this great video !

Yes, I COMPLETELY agree with you: The BMW E39 is the best ever !

One will realise at the latest by looking at the inner and outer design of E60, how beautiful this E39 was and still is.

Van Hooydonk seems to realise it as well and has designed the upcoming 2010 5-series with unmistakable hommage to the E39.

  • The new F10 5 series is a 2011 model. But I do agree that Van Hooydonk wanted to use the timeless e39 styling as a cue. I think BMW needed the e60 to make going back better - if you know what I mean. And don't forget, the e60 brought the entire world design cues that are still copied today. God Bless.
