i cant really believe what you say about not seeing a new truck on a garage forecourt with rows of silly lights across the top ,,cant honestly work that one out by someone like you coming from a country where appearance and style of trucks is so important to so many people,as for your other comment about other road users not seeing police or other escort vehicles i would safely conclude that you know little or possibly nothing about this type of work.

Tehnically we do but keeping the load moving is generally the best policy and with a Police escort they tend to do just that.

stop giving the truck drivers the stick. all the spots are there for safety and also to help the driver do the very best job he can in all weathers, day and night. plus i'm pretty sure you would want to see something this big coming towards you!

Cool video! I always get a buzz when I see something like this on the raods!! Out of interest who pays for the Police & your services? The owner of the truck? Also is a V8 in a truck quite a small engine?

The haulier is responsible for paying the cost of for any private or Police escort in the UK. I think a V8 is a pretty standard engine format but it's the CC and torque that counts in terms of power but there are a LOT of things that make up a good heavy haulage tractor. The driver is 1950gah (YouTube ID) - I'm sure he would answer your question in much more detail if you were to ask him.

we usually move the 777c 777d into east pit complete it is only the new 777fs that go in minus the front wheels this one had just been picked up from finnings and the rears had not been put on for some reason, been into east pit today with a pc1250 little bit tight but arrived in one piece.

To drive an Escort Vehicle you must have experience of the transportation or movement of abnormal loads ,,Either you have been a loader driver or drivers mate or your ex traffic police, Its not that easy as people think just sitting behind a truck on a motorway you have to know wherethe loads is going to be on single cariageways and if it goes wrong ,, you as the escort driver get it as well ..Yes you could go to jail even if its not your fault Still wanna do the job ?????
