I do have meny memory with Kitaro.

When i was 20 years old I was in war (Iran and Iraq) sometimes was no hope but the only thing i loved with me was my walkman with Kitaro songs. It was hope for me. I am 49 years and have 3 kids and live in Norway and still love kitaro.

A theramin (I think that's how you spell it) is basically a pick up box with a semi electrified rod sticking out of it that makes sound when you put your hand near it and changes pitch based on proximity. Captain Beefheart liked to use them a lot.
