  • The original orchestration of the piece is what I wrote. Sangen is the same as shamisen.

  • The piece is for two Kotos, Shakuhachi and Shamisen

  • @SimplyStraight999

No. The piece is originally for 2 kotos, shakuhachi and sangen. This is verified by wikipedia and iannis-xenakis org. This performance consists of two guitars and flute.

Do not post misinformation on my videos.

  • Xenakis opposes the whole of the European history of music. His point of departure is elsewhere; not in an artificial sound isolated from nature in order to express a subjectivity, but in an earthly ‘objective’ sound, in a mass of sound which does not rise from the human heart, but which approaches us from the outside, like raindrops or the voice of wind." "Xenakis, prophet of insensibility" (Milan Kundera)

  • great way to layer the guitar and flute sounds. I think there is always a question of "how do I get guitar away from it's idiomatic guitar-ness"?

  • Woah, this is quite un-Xenakian. It's closer to Takemitsu's idiom. Still, great music.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!
