@aussiespring1129 You should take into account that we also see a massive exaggeration on behalf of the producers to get a higher viewing rate. They want it to be scandalous. And, second, yes of course, serious obesity is always connected with psychological issues. Check out Bob Harper's (the Biggest Loser coach of the first season) new book on it, or much older research like Susie Orbach's work, if you want to know more about that.

this is basically an illness. they have no willpower, no restraint, no control. its revolting. i hope people can realise that this is wrong. we need to be healthy. stay fit.

@hanahgray It's not always 100% choice. with binge eating disorder, you have a lot less control over what you eat compared to normal people. You also can't feel full unless you eat 5x what a normal person would eat. If you have never experienced it then probably best not to criticise people. It is an illness, and an addiction.. and requires reprogramming your entire brain, forgetting your entire childhood, upbringing, lifestyle is near impossible, but it can be done. But much harder
