Eww... Rotties with undocked tails. To each their own I guess. Every Rott i've ever owned(4) always got the shorty tail treatment at the vet. They just look better.

@bigocampo Yes, to each.... Couldn't disagree more that they look better tailless. To me they look way way better with undocked tails, more natural for sure; they use them as social signalers, and i swear it helps them with agility.

@apocalypse775 LOL...my Rott broke my mom's clothes pole, a 4x4. She was tied to the clothes line, thought if anything she would just snap the line. Oh no, she seen me coming down the driveway, started running for me, and there was a snap, but it was the 4x4. She broke it right off where it went into the cement that held it in place. My mom was mad at her for all ofabout 10 seconds

I don't think that rottweilers unpredictable, it's depend how much time you spend with your dog. All our dogs are lovers.

@DrAgOnIx7 I have a Rottweiler and a Lab/Pitbull mix and it's just how you train them. Love both of them to death but my Pitty mix will be my last one I might have because in Ontario they are banned because of BSL.

@DrAgOnIx7 if you live with your parents they go to work early morning comming back at lets say 5 o clock and you are at college school or university and you go out with ur rottie in the morning and after u come back from college its not enough... if he doesnt go out at least for 45 mins 4 times a day he will become nervous. and after that he will be unpredictable for sure ...

@DrAgOnIx7 No they are not unpredictable. To tell your parents the truth they are one of the most stable breeds. I have A mastiff a min pin and on my 3rd Rott. They will put up with children alot better than most breeds. What I would suggest is get some books and try to find a club and let your parents become introduced to the breed. They are strong willed and do need a strong pack leader, but in my opinion there is no better breed of dog. Don't believe the news, Labs bite more than rotts.

@DrAgOnIx7 it's all in how they are raised, and trained. The one I have now is my first one, and she is the best dog I ever had. Its also the LEAST agressive dog, I can stick my hand into her food dish while shes eating and take some food out and all she does is lick my hand. If your parents ever met my Rottie, I bet she would change their minds about the breed. They get a bad name that they surely don't deserve. Mine could never hurt a fly....if anything, she would want to play with it!
