  • Man...blast from the past! I got to march with these guys back in '97. I see Bill and Kevin have posted on here. Shout out. I was the gangly kid from Texas that played timps. I learned a lot from you guys as a 15 yr old...great players. Lee Beddis still kinda scares me though, haha. Gimme a shout. Cory.

    1st one was Legatos

    2nd one was Accent Tap

3rd one i cant remember cuz we never played it. Double something

4th one was triplet roll development

  • @IamAlex13 GOEDKEN

  • @skkatter SHRIMP DICK?

  • @IamAlex13 AHHHHHH tryouts tomorrow :O

  • @skkatter oh yeah thats right.

  • Damn, the dude on the left end of the snareline could've used a sammich!

(Hi Robby - this is "Chief" from your Delta Brigade days)

  • Hey Mr. Green is this the only year you marched?

  • No. I also marched 95 and 96 but not at glassmen

  • Where at?

  • @GreenCowboy Ah, the Union show. You know, it looks like you ate better with us in 95 than with the GMen. Anyway, I remember watching you guys at this show. Very good drumline.

  • what school are the glassmen from ??

    is it a school ??

i know its from ohio but thats all.....

  • hahaha school. okay dude this is a DRUM CORPS.

  • wats a drum corps

    like theyre paid fro it?

  • no, it's defined as a musical marching unit ( not really a marching band, lots of corps take offense to that title) that consists of brass, field percussion and a front ensemble. they dont get paid they actually pay to participate. its very high level and requires an audition process. the age limit is between 14 and 21 years of age. but no they're not a "school" =)

  • ya its a middle school drumline

  • that some funny shit!

  • Do you guys remember, this was the place that crazy guy stuck his head over the fence and started screaming at us while we were tracking in that same spot. ha! "i gotta sick wife you !@#$%^&^"

  • For the record:

    I (Kevin) marched

    1996 - 2001 Glassmen

    Devin marched

    1996 Bluecoats

    1997 Phantom Regiment

    1998 Bluecoats

    1999 Glassmen

    2001 Blue Devils

  • @ETSUdrummer1 It's not ripping off if you wrote it....SAME CAPTION HEAD!!

  • who was the center snare that year?...he looks like devin namaky who marched tenors w/ the blue devils?

  • That would be Kevin Namaky. . . Devins Twin brother. LOL!

  • WHOA!!! talk about blind sided!! i didnt know he had a twin!!!! well now i know! LOL

  • Yup. . In 98 Devin Marched BlueCoats and then came to Glassmen in 99 and marched a year. Then I think he headed out to Devs.

  • nah, devin stuck with Colin mcnutt. he stayed with Glassmen through 2001 where he aged out

  • well i know for certain he marched blue devils in 2001 because of the fact he won tenor I&E that year..i know his solo is up here somewhere

  • devin is the one that marched devils. kevins twin brother who plays tenors.

Kevin played snare and stuck with Colin Mcnutt aging out in Glassmen

  • Yeah I know but you said "devin stuck with Colin mcnutt" i believe kevin did not devin. LOL i just confused myself

  • my bad, i thought i typed "Kevin"

  • talk about blast from the past. nice vid.

  • so this is where the greencowboy is from? you marched in a badass line my friend.

at our most recent gmen camp (i'm marching gsnare 08!) BH asked us what glassmen years we aim to live up to and this was easily the most popular answer from the drumline members.

  • Thanks for the comments. . .

  • Wow, even Bob Ciz is skinny....

  • jizmerrick. . . :)

  • We didn't use mylar bottom heads, what we did was crank the bottom really high and the top head low to get that sound. Each snare by itslef sounded like a box but together a decent snare sound.

  • circa 1993 star

  • I spy a 16 year old Jeremy Noyes!!

  • Yes you do. . .I've got some funny stories on that kid from 98. Killer player though and really nice guy.

  • Yeah man, he's my best friend! We marched Crown 02, North Texas 02, and Regiment 03 together! I'd LOVE to hear some of those stories! You know he's been teching at Regiment for the past few summers right?

  • Also, Im pretty sure that you guys used Mylar bottomheads. I don't like the sound that much, but for cleanliness sakes', it stands out more. I also liked it when Boston was doing it in 02 and 03.

    Again, awesome line.

  • It's funny that you mention that because...Dave Nelson (The guy 1 in on the right of the video) was on staff at Boston. Honestly, The drums themselves sounded like poop but as a group the sound was fine to me. I loved playing on those flam heads that would give when you played into the drum.

  • One of my all time favorite lines. Wish the corps was better so you guys could've placed higher. Good show though.

  • Thanks man! I think we finished 3-4 in drums.

  • "Wish the corps was better." First of all be specific. "Corps" is the entire 128 member unit on the field. You talking about brassline, colorguard, front ensemble, drum major? (Obviously not battery). If you're talking about brassline: what are you talking about man. Probably the loudest brass in DCI that year? Did you hear the mellos in the closer (actually throughout the entire show??) And I believe that brass line was on Frank Dorritie's topten list when DCI Seasonpass was still new.

  • Geez Robbie - did you eat anything that summer??????

  • My mom asked the same thing when she saw me at that show.... LOL! She ended up sending me all this food...LOL!

  • hey man, thanks alot for these vids. i've been looking all over the internet for 98 clips or even a run through. i cant find a run through anywhere, and i'm dying for one. but this is good none the less.

  • Well, I do have a run, but it's stuck on a HI-8 Cassette at my parents house 10hrs away. I'll see what I can do.

  • im diggin it

  • Hey guys, It's Bill Nickolson what's up? Yeah I'm still alive and well. Good to see a video of 98 on here. This brings back some good memories, hard to beleive it's been almost 10 years already. Email me at BillN911 AOL

  • Sup Bill! Good to see your alive...Got any vids from 98?

  • I don't have much, I think I've got some run through videos from Dekalb IL. Kevin has some a pretty sweet video of us in Dayton 98. That would be great if he could post that. I wonder how everyone is doing from 98? Later- Bill

  • yup

  • Yeah, I do. Just in the process of getting them all up. It's been one of my summer projects to convert all of my Vids to Internet for my students.

  • Robbie. An actual video of us on the internet?!?!?! Do you have any more?

  • Gmen of the late 90s...hell yeah.
