This is a poignant advert. Thankfully nearly everybody has half a brain enough to put their seatbelt on, and if most of us were in a car with someone who hadn't put theirs on we'd promptly instruct them to do so. People who don't wear them, citing reasons like 'they're uncomfortable' are mad in most our eyes. The very fact that you have to make an advert telling people to do it is the saddest thing. It's like having to tell someone they have to plug their microwave in before it will work!

A seatbelt saved my life when I was 13. I didn't wear the belt every time back then, but I put it on because the newspapers said that particular weekend was a time when many people statistically crashed. (Due to bad weather etc.) Now I never take a ride without it.

The problem with the "think" british campaign is that it portrays accidents in all of their bloody gore, and the problem with this is that in a time when all action movies involve heads exploding etc, it just makes the ads seem like a movie and therefore it has no lasting effect.
Once you've been at a real crash site you will know how it really looks like. They don't over exaggerate in those ads. Accidents like that do happen, and I should know I lost my fiance to a negligent driver this past October. That is the problem with young people nowadays, they think stuff like that only happens in the movies, but it is all too real.

There were at least five cars around us and we needed to exit, so my sisters friend went full speed, cutting three lanes and almost went out of control..

If you hold the steering wheel like an idiot ( alot of people do) it can break ur fingers/thumbs. it can break ur arm and cause bruising to your face. you should also never put young children in the front as it can easily smother them, and can cause more harm than good.. It is classified as a safety feature because it helps prevent trauma to the head.. The end justifies the means.

Due to the current exposure we have to the media, then if i see brains flying and limbs falling and things exploding, whether it's on a drive safety advert or a summer blockbuster - then i'm going to immediately think to myself "that's not real, this doesn't happen in real life". So despite whether it does happen in real life, the fact that the ads portray it that way makes them appear silly and unbelievable.

A lot of Teenagers are ignorant and think they're almost invincible in cars, my sister never puts on her seatbelt so I pretty much have to scream at her, I was almost in a crash the other day with my friend, my sister was in the front passenger seat with her senior classmate and neither of them were wearing a seat belt, it was in a convertible. There were at least five cars around us and we needed to exit, so my sisters friend went full speed, cutting three lanes and almost went out of control..

LOL congrats on seeing a car crash, but have you been in one when the air bag smacks you in the face or hear it go off?? Its mega loud and does hurt. so yes in theory they are there to stop you hitting the dash board, but as in this advert driver didn;t as he had his seat belt on, hence why there not in this advert and in some cases are crap, (well i guess all depends on your speed etc etc)

@brickerproductions, what did u crash into??,the driver hit the dashboard cuz he wasn't wearing his seat belt, serves him right,, hence why they are there! and the dude waking up lives cuz of the seat belt, nooo air bags, as shows doesn't need em in this clip, yeah the living dude has cuts but he would of got them anyway with the impact from the airbag! If air bags were all that than they would have put them in all the older cars, some of the "family" cars dont have them in the front only@sides

and i have told you about my dad he works and investigates car accidents if the air bag doesnt go of the nore likely the people inside is killed seatbelts are there to act as a backup system if the airbag had of deployed the guy without a seatbelt would have had the same chance of living as the guy with the seatbelt if the airbag had of deployed the worst injury my dad has seen jue to the airbag deploying is a broken thumb.

if it cuased any kid of blood loss it would not be classified as a safty feature.

If you hold the steering wheel like an idiot ( alot of people do) it can break ur fingers/thumbs. it can break ur arm and cause bruising to your face. you should also never put young children in the front as it can easily smother them, and can cause more harm than good.. It is classified as a safety feature because it helps prevent trauma to the head.. The end justifies the means.
