Photoshop Mama's CS3 Jpeg in Camera Raw!

when i opned my jpeg picture as camera raw it resulted to an image that is plain gray..and lots of dotted line..i also tried another way i opened jpeg file then saved it as raw. then opened the saved jpeg image into raw. then its distorted.. why did it happned?

@weward Have you tried other files or just this one jpg?

Check out the Edit>Preferences in the top Bridge menu. There might be an option there. Also if you are on Mac it is Control click instead of right click. I don't have CS3 on my computer any more so I'm just guessing. Under the File menu at the top of the Bridge window there should be an option "Open in Camera Raw" or use the shortcut after highlighting image thumbnail in Bridge and press Control R on a PC. and might be Command R on a Mac.

Nice video. Easy way to open a jpeg to camera raw-for pc go to edit then preference then file handling and then click prefer adobe camera raw for jpeg files. then you can the jpeg easily. thanks....

hi i have photoshop cs3 and bridge 3 but It's not showing the Raw option when I do the right click why is that?

Not sure...are you in Bridge when you right click? Anyways you can also use the keyboard shortcut Control R on a selected image from Bridge to open the jpeg in Adobe Camera Raw.

go to cs3 and in file...open as smart object...simple as that...really works

The preferences for it can be found in Bridge. When you highlight an image in Bridge, right click on it and there should be an option to open in in ACR if it is a jpeg or a tiff format.

And of course if you shoot in raw, those files will automatically open ACR when double-clicked.

Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard image editing program. You can purchase it at many places, just google Photoshop CS3

Open the image, go to File Save As...and click the format tab--choose the desired format and click Save

Do you have Photoshop version CS3? If yes, then you do have ACR (Adobe Camera Raw). If you have previous versions, then you only have ACR if you have a camera raw or .dng file. CS3 is the FIRST version where you can open a regular existing jpeg into the ACR interface.

Below are the instructions which enables the double click option BUT this bust be done in (PS3 EDIT and PREFERENCES)NOT bridge.

Note: Select Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge General preferences to open camera raw files in the Camera Raw dialog box in Bridge. If this preference isn't selected, camera raw files open in Photoshop.
