I hope this rule isn't still on the books. The penalty should be on the Michigan QB for delay of game/ being a pussy. Acting like the crowd is doing something wrong by cheering and making noise is asinine. And "Drpatrick", when there was noise like this, they were winning. The crowd at ND is notoriously quiet the past decade+, but if you ask me it's because the teams haven't given them anything to cheer about. They were loud as hell for Utah last year. Win and it will always get loud.

@cauchamar well, i was at the MSU game in 05, when they made that amazing comeback just to fall short in OT. it was sooooooooooo loud then. USC that season as well. if we start 6-0 going against USC who could potentially be 6-0 as well, expect to have your ears blasted out. 05 and 06 are the types of seasons we need to have for deafening crowd noise. how leinart called that audible on the 4th and 9 play i will never know

Notre Dame had much more mystique when the attendance was 59,075 then the 80,000+ they have had since 1997 or since Lou Holtz left as the coach. I should go with the latter.
