Funny, when I saw the video when Spoonyone (Noah Antwiler) was talking about this and Guild Wars 2. He was showing this exact trailer but stop at that same exact spot (1:47) and accuse the game for being boring, right before the trailer was about to show the action. Impatient much?
If any of you know or not. FF XIV is still coming out for PS3 this year. So, ladies and gentlemen, we're almost ready to experience with good graphics, good gameplay, and hopefully voice acting. And no bug problems. :)

Lets be realistic for a moment. All Japanese gaming companies are struggling in a certain way, where western principals are pulling on things they had decided worked for a long long time. Final Fantasy XIII is a clear example of that. XII is not as bad as people make it out to be, and to suggest that Enix being absorbed into Square is what created this situation is ignorant. Square is finding themselves. Think of this as Square's awkward teen years. It will get better.

@banglefaar I could never agree more with you man, since square is not longer square but square-enix, ALL Final Fantasy games sucks, graphics are cool but history sucks, the only FF games that were worth playing were those from Playstation 1.
I'll agree that ff13 made me feel restricted but other than that it was an ok game. As for Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 I love the battle system. I'm not sayin KH it was like a game from god but it was great game overall. These days it feels like FPS are the main focus, but ff13 and KH series is a nice balance between hardcore rpg plp like me and 1st timers. But Squaresoft as i knew them and now as Enix is still raisein the bar for rpgs they'll bound to slip up some.
@banglefaar let me put it like this, they could have made a MVC 3 type trash or blk ops and said go play it bitch. But they dnt they try to get better. Yep. But some or most of us say that the PC Version had a critical reception. Because of the graphics and no voice acting. And we're waiting for the PS3 Version to come out with better graphics and voice acting.
The PC sucks...but the PS3 Version will be arriving soon.

I wish I did. But after watching the review of it from IGN, they said that the gameplay was terrible. I'm just waiting for the PS3 Version; and they're about to release a 1.16 patch for it.(If you already know that or not) How about you?
@vinceaguon1 I gave it a shot since it's free to play for the time being. SE has definitely made a lot of changes since the publications such as IGN and gamespot reviewed it.
The game is definitely lacking in content. With only a handful of zones and towns...I don't think I'd keep playing it if it wasn't free. That said...the combat and crafting mechanics are sound. I'd say the gameplay is actually quite solid but there just isn't much to do.
@vinceaguon1 If SE added more content maybe I'd cancel my WOW subscription. I'd say give it a shot if you're interested since the servers are free. The game is actually pretty decent right now.
I bought the game online and it's own it's way to my house. This game has royally piqued my interest. Between the heated debates, class sub-games, story, and the fact that Square Enix is really working to get this off the ground, I'm interested to see where this project is going.
Final Fantasy became just selling shit, until 10 everything was great now they seem to ignore the fans begging for remakes of Final fantasy 7, that's why I love Zelda when they made the game cube crappy graphics the fans complained after a bit nitendo gave the fans what they wanted in twlight princess...

All this game is a pretty cut scene and thats it. I was so hyped for it but was let down so hard. For one thing I didn't know it was going to be basicly nothing but a solo MMO. The game looks great but 2 things that bug me, why there is only a all female Miqo'te (cat women) race and an all male Highlanders (big muscle guy's) race? I mean seriously, why only a race with only one gender it's just doesn't work that way.
@Gatman720 It's not saying there is only a single gender for that race, it just allows you to play the single gender that represents that race's culturally accepted adventurer population. For example, where as it's acceptable for the more common Miqo'te females to venture out into the world, men are rarer among their people, so are held closer to home and less often seen--at least, if it mirrors the Mithra which they are so similar to.
@Janusha don't get suckered into the hype dude. XIV had the worst demo at PAX this year. The gameplay is boring, not exciting and innovative as an online RPG should be. It's just a bland generic mmo that's got the title "Final Fantasy" slapped on it for attention.

@1shoryuken Plenty! the leve system is awesome, its no longer an unknown time to grind, there are set # of things you can do per day, so you can plan to do them in groups with friends and its no longer a rush. the gameplay is extremely varied from craft, battle, explore, gather, and social quests that dont necessarily make it annoying to level any one thing up. granted the game just came out and there are plenty of things to fix, but for it being new its refreshing to play, i like it alot.
@1shoryuken also, just get a trial and play for yourself. there are some minor irritations such as the interface, but other than that. once they polish up the game like they have with FFXI and add more to it FFXIV is going to be around for a good long while.

I wish I did. But after watching the review of it from IGN, they said that the gameplay was terrible. I'm just waiting for the PS3 Version; and they're about to release a 1.16 patch for it.(If you already know that or not) How about you?

@vinceaguon1 I gave it a shot since it's free to play for the time being. SE has definitely made a lot of changes since the publications such as IGN and gamespot reviewed it.
The game is definitely lacking in content. With only a handful of zones and towns...I don't think I'd keep playing it if it wasn't free. That said...the combat and crafting mechanics are sound. I'd say the gameplay is actually quite solid but there just isn't much to do.

I bought the game online and it's own it's way to my house. This game has royally piqued my interest. Between the heated debates, class sub-games, story, and the fact that Square Enix is really working to get this off the ground, I'm interested to see where this project is going.

a)UI and most of stuff feels ported from consoles
b)they never thought of PCs as recievers of FF games, they only release monthly-paid MMO FFs (11/14) for PCs to milk them from money
c)same monthly price for every country
d)monthly-fees, this game isn't good enough to be monthly-paid.

VIII was a disapointing mess of a game (combat was a chore) and X, man talk about the most stupid story in a RPG and the most faceplam character design in video game history, how can you go from the godly, imaginative design by the incredible Yoshitaka Amano to that piece of shit?

All this game is a pretty cut scene and thats it. I was so hyped for it but was let down so hard. For one thing I didn't know it was going to be basicly nothing but a solo MMO. Never have a felt so alone while playing an mmo in my life. I'll keep giving it a try since I have 2 months free play but I doubt I will stay with it.

@AktiebolagetAB erm isn't combat supposed to be exciting and engaging in a game, It's not because of the speed of the gameplay, far from it, it's because of how your character takes no interest in what your fighting; their is no sense of danger and interaction.

@garrettshawdotcom im not a big MMO fan but the gameplay especially the battle system looks so soooo borrring!!!! theirs nothing engaging and exciting going on, it looks like a bunch of marionettes on display. Have a look at Guild Wars 2 in comparison of gameplay, That shit looks intense and exciting but this...it's just boring.
l'd rather play an MMO that's breaking the tradition of the liner style.

Each additional playable character will be $3.00 per period, with a maximum of 8 playable characters per account. Each additional retainer will cost $1.00 per period. Pretty much same as Final Fantasy XI.

The game looks great but 2 things that bug me, why there is only a all female Miqo'te (cat women) race and an all male Highlanders (big muscle guy's) race? I mean seriously, why only a race with only one gender it's just doesn't work that way.

@Gatman720 It's not saying there is only a single gender for that race, it just allows you to play the single gender that represents that race's culturally accepted adventurer population. For example, where as it's acceptable for the more common Miqo'te females to venture out into the world, men are rarer among their people, so are held closer to home and less often seen--at least, if it mirrors the Mithra which they are so similar to.

@1shoryuken Plenty! the leve system is awesome, its no longer an unknown time to grind, there are set # of things you can do per day, so you can plan to do them in groups with friends and its no longer a rush. the gameplay is extremely varied from craft, battle, explore, gather, and social quests that dont necessarily make it annoying to level any one thing up. granted the game just came out and there are plenty of things to fix, but for it being new its refreshing to play, i like it alot.
