Those ugly wow creatures with their three polygons, stone faces and washed out textures are just rediculous. Now EQ2 is gone. Unfortunately Sony never advertised EQ2. Every idiot out there knows wow,wow,wow. Nobody knows EQ2. If EQ2 would have become as famous as wow, it would have kicked wow away.

The music of EQ2 is some of the best game music ever to be released. Thankfully others have followed, like Knut Avenstroup Haugen who wrote the music for Age of Conan.
The music in EQ2 really is a top effort. For me EQ1 will always be no 1 in terms of playability and making the game a true social multiplayer experience. Eq2 has alot of good points, and is certainly alot deeper than Wow. As a group player in Wow I ran out of content in about a month not even playing hardcore. The problem with Mmos these days is that they cater for the desire for instant gratification. I am looking forward to everquest next to see if they can recapture the true spirit of an mmo!

No matter if we quit for 1, 5, 10 years, an EverQuest fan will always be an EverQuest fan. We may change our ways, but the Qeynos theme ... or the theme from PoK... or the Kelethin theme... will always bring back memories.
yeah, that's per server too. 194,123 on average across all 14 servers(not sure how many are actually active). there's only one PVP server too, ahh... that's why it didn't do so well. there wasn't any PVP when it was released. interesting, too, that the only PVP server has 330k+ people. a 75k difference compared to the second most populated server.
I tried to look up the numbers for WOW, but they masked their population numbers with low, medium, and high. kinda shady.
God, this music is amazing. I got bored of WoW so I tried out the trial for this game and Oh my god, as soon as get more time in my days to play, definitely gonna try this sucker out for the full game.

Everquest 1 was one of the very first MMOs created, therefore newer MMOs tried to mimic Everquest's success. Some did "well", like WoW, with it's millions of subscribers... most of which... bah... I don't want to get into an argument over WoW. However! None have come close to Everquest's charm, beauty, splendor, loads of quests, graphics, story, creation-options...-continues on..- =D
