  • so underrated

  • Play this song + /watch?v=Ul9jMoHyE6E&feature=related c:

  • This song is too damn short.

  • albatross

  • this song is amazing <3

  • This versión is incomplete.

  • @NSgsus It's part of a medley, and immediately after where it stops there's a drum roll leading into the next sequence.

  • Great video, great song and great photos

  • It's ironic that Louis XIV called himself the Sun King because of his central importance, yet the idea that the sun was the center of the solar system was still very new and heretic.

  • @TnseWlms Completly agree, I've never tought before that it could be considered heretic (in that time) and yeah, it would have been heretic.

  • *facepalm* I'm pretty sure that what you interpreted as...THAT, was actually "cake, can eat it;" at this point they're singing what might be called "pig spanish," that is, gibberish that SOUNDS but it definitely NOT Spanish.

I theorize that, in writing this song, they were criticizing one of the members (I don't know who), who was soon to leave, by sarcastically referring to him as "the sun king" and saying that he would make everything all right.

  • 2:20 Did I just hear "Kick and eat it"?

  • im so stoned right now i could eat you

  • This is about Louis XIV of France... AP Euro! hahahah

  • Gink Nus

  • chills...but in a good way

  • Such a beautifully well put together song.

  • We still live friends, thank you Sun King.

  • Did i hear crickets in the beginning...or am I just crazy...

  • @TurresaaDo what crickets o__O???

  • @TurresaaDo you did.

  • a musical dose of acid

  • @robertomifano :) also a musical dose of cozy homieness. :D Thank you, Mom, <3

  • Trippin balls to this song

  • Pure genius!

  • Don't let me down.

    Dont let me DOoown!

  • Louis XIV reigned from 1643-1715. Galileo was forced to renounced his heliocentric beliefs around 1616. The Church did not start lifting its bans on Galieo's works until 1718.

But Louis XIV was referring more to the sun in the sense of radiating light than being the center of orbit.

  • So where is Peter Green?

  • Noone should hate on gaga... Shes one of the only talents left today

  • @pedalnumber4 Blahahahahahahah !! You're hilarious.

  • @pedalnumber4 There are a LOT of really fantastic artists our there if you dig deeper than the top viewed videos on youtube.

  • @pedalnumber4 hahahahhaha!

  • dedicated to louis xiv "the sun king" (1643-1715)

  • @hinata750 It's ironic that Louis XIV called himself the Sun King to indicate his central position, yet the idea that the sun was the center of the solar system was still very new and heretic at the time.

  • @TnseWlms in the early 1800's? It wasn't really a new idea at that pont.

  • mmmmhh... relaxing <3

  • But Lady Gaga is an idiot, and all that is wrong with pop culture. These guys were the real deal. What comes after gaga will probably be even worse than she is....

  • Wierd...John says the Sun King came to him in a dream. I must be honest, I haven't heard this song till now ( I know I know). Though, ironically, I have also seen the Sun King. Not in a dream, but in a higher state of mind that shamans experience. I wonder if it was a dream, or an experience? They were very experimental so it wouldn't be a surprise to me.

  • Nice one!

  • @beatlesfloyd888 Who are you saying it to?

  • @KidzCount2 I'm saying it to hazel10987 - for putting the photo montage together.... Who did you think? The Sun King? ;-)

  • @neiljamesm Today music is not an evolution. It's a hole in good music.

  • cool video man!

  • @xXshmowzowXx Because I am writing a psychology thesis on how people react to annoying arguments :) Look at my channel, you'll see what music I listen too ;)

  • This sound sounds like early Pink Floyd. I was in Cancun years ago in a swimming pool when it started raining. They played this song while it poured down and people just kept swimming peacefully to the music. Right when the song ended, the sun came out. It burned an imprint and always takes me back there.

  • @tomf429 Wow. Amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • Just another bimbo who has no clue whatsoever what true music is about!

  • Tss this music is just crap. Don't understand why people say it's better than Lady Gaga. Just boring and nonsense

  • @neiljamesm It may have something to do with Lady Gaga having absolutely no talent. And I don't even understand how someone can compare The Beatles and Lady Gaga. They are different in pretty much every possible way, so comparing the two makes no sense.

  • @neiljamesm You're just obviously starving for attention, poor you

  • @Bombazor And you obviously have no taste in music.

  • @neiljamesm Beatles are bad in music? Go jump off a building or something already,

  • @Bombazor

Beatles are bad at music and my ears bleed when I hear their songs. Long live Lady Gaga <3<3<3

Their music is just crap and it's not worth a shit nowadays. You are just one of these antievolution guys who have problems getting used to the modern world and prefer in fear stay in the dark past.

  • @neiljamesm you obvioulsy don't know real music.

  • @KidzCount2 You obviously dont' know anything about musical evolution. If you look, nowadays Lady Gaga is more popular. Popularity shows what is best.

Isn't it how it works? Something is general as soon as a majority of people believes in it. It's the same for music. Sorry but 400.000.000 views tell me Lady Gaga wins this time. One day another will reaplce Lady Gaga, someone even better.

But yeah at their time the beatles WERE a great band. Still, it's over now and you should try to get over it.

  • @neiljamesm The Beatles are still much more popular than Gaga. Surprising huh?

  • @KidzCount2 Look at the numbers.

    Lady Gaga: 400.000.000 views max.

    Beatles : 20.000.000 views max.

If you know your maths, you'll conclude that Lady Gaga has 20 times as much views as beatles. It makes her 20 times more popular.

    Surprising huh?

  • @neiljamesm If Gaga is more popular, how come The Beatles sold wayyyy more albums? How come Gaga didn't beat them?

  • @KidzCount2

But who sells more Albums nowadays? She does.

The Beatles sold a lot of albums especially in their time but now they are old school, old fashioned, and in the way of the evolution of music

  • @neiljamesm Actually, The Beatles do. In my local Wal-Mart, there are lots of untouched Gaga albums, but The Beatles albums are being bought.

  • @KidzCount2 Is your Walmart the world? No, only a local store. So you can't make a general thing out of it. But is Youtube in almost the entire world? Yes, it IS. So it is more representative of the actual situation. Also you can look at the numbers on the internet (Wikipedia).

Seriously your argumentation goes like: "Oh well in my neighborhood everyone has bought a nice car, this means that everyone in my country has a nice car".

    You can't be serious...

  • @neiljamesm Dude, you don't get what I mean. At Youtube, people can view it, but not like it. At a store, they buy albums because they know it's good. Anyways, more people like Beatles more than Gaga, and more people dislike Gaga than The Beatles.

  • @KidzCount2

    Yes they can like it.

    Gaga : 460.000 likes

    Beatles : 60.000 likes

Well that's a lot of difference.

And yeah the people nowadays just can't get used to modern music. It's like when the system of facebook changes. In the beggining everybody hates the new system, but in the end everybody gets used to it, and if they see the old system again, they can tell there has been made a lot of progress. It's the same for music here. But people on facebook HAVE to get used, but you don't.

  • @neiljamesm But more dislikes for Gaga than Beatles. Pwned.

  • @KidzCount2 Because guys like you make such heavy resistance to evolution and this greatness of this kind of modern music cause you're not able just to enjoy something new. Poor little things. And to show you don't agree with this new things which are too complicated for you, you have to say that it's bullshit, maintream, and all go to Gaga ideos to dislike it, that's why!

  • @neiljamesm No, people (not all) think her songs are pretty bad. Even non-Beatles fans don't like her music.

  • Of course gaga would sell more albums now, shes a modern artist. Typically, you will find that most bands only sell while they are still producing music. The Beatles on the other hand, still sells lots of albums (plus itunes etc). I wonder if gaga will still sell 50 years from now.....

  • @buoybuhund

I don't care if Gaga sells her disks in 50 years. In 50 years we'll have other artists, even better, leading us closer to perfection

  • @neiljamesm Your "maths" are correct, she does have 20 times as many views. This does not mean she is 20 times as popular. The fact that the Beatles sold albums even after they splitand stopped making music tells me that they are the more popular band.

  • @neiljamesm Musical evolution? The Beatles were pioneers in rock and roll for gods sake! That is, they were unlike gaga, who follows the herd.

  • @buoybuhund

Cool, who cares about being pioneers if most people nowadays don't give a shit about it? And no she doesn't follow the herd. I'm sure you don't even listened carefully to her music. She's making something really new and fresh!

  • Your dates are wrong. The Traveling Wilburys was invented in 1988, well past the 70s. Now, the artists who made it up were all masters of the earlier eras, but Roy Orbison's climb to stardom started in the 50s.

  • The Sun King? Oh no! He shall destroy us all! Where is he? Here he comes? Gather the children and run! Oh God! He is speaking Spanish!

  • apparently the beatles are playing in chiselhurst this month, i look forward to it

  • I'll occasionally catch myself, apropos of nothing, singing "Everybody's laughing...everybody's happy..."

  • This song goes good with rainymood just putting it out there

  • Man i remember the those times i used to light a PHAT 1 to this song. PHUUUCK......

  • @Aliendear he did play the whole song. It just stops rather abruptly and then leads into Mean Mr Mustard.

  • @slowrideist Damn... i wish i were there in the 70s, had to have been an amazing time. But now in days, all you hear on the radio is bout sex, violence, and nonsence crap. *Sigh* I agree with you bro, i was born in the wrong decade....

  • Is there some reason why you didn't play the whole song? Kinda anti-climatic.

  • Thanks Peter Green.

  • Here are the foreign language lyrics for this: Quando paramucho mi amore de felice corazon. Mundo paparazzi mi amore chica ferdy parasol. Cuesto obrigado tanta mucho que can eat it carousel.

In other words, it is a jumble of nonsense. Carousel might be "cara sol." It's all the same.

  • Beatles forever

  • now i got to listen mean mr mustard

  • I just feel like lying in the green grass on a hot summer evening and feel the breeze on my skin. Ahhhhh

  • ..Does anyone know who the sun king really was?

Because I do. And so do the French.

  • @therandomexample

I do, I do! It was Louis XIV

  • still feel like crying every time i hear this ;_;

they have the most amazing wonderful voices, and the harmony in the line 'here comes the sun king', THAT HARMONY IS MY LIFE, it really strikes a chord in my life, (haha chord geddit?) but its so sad and happy at the same time...

and the line 'everybody's laughing, everybody's happy', it really just sums up my feelings about the this band, that decade, just everything,. asdfhjkgfhdshdfomggg

  • gotta love the sun!

  • Is it just me, or is this song f**kin incredible? Especially flowing into Mean Mr Mustard

  • The world in slow motion. Beautiful.

  • Why do you guys even care?

  • @john1968326 It's degrading when someone aka Diewalrossen gets Italian and Spanish mixed up but tries to lecture me on languages. What kind of an idiot who claims they know Spanish doesn't know Mi Amore not amor, amore with an e is Italian?

  • Of all the billions of Asian women in this world, why did John L. have to marry an ugly one? I will admit this song is okay, but then I think of Yoko the Yucko.

  • This song is done so well. Gives me chills. Only complaint is that it is too short. John had "scraps" of unfinished songs that he put together for Abbey Road @ Paul's request. I wish that John would have taken the time to complete them. But, it wouldn't be the Abbey Road that we now know, then would it.

  • The intro is so beautiful...

  • Im i the only one who thinks this is the best song on Abbey Road?...Oh by the way , Sun bath to this ........its chilling ...

  • @trickykid73 This is my second favorite song on abbey road, but I like Oh! Darling better. I used to think it was the best

  • @john1968326 Yeah , Oh darling was great too !

  • Comment removed

  • Everbody's Laughing!

    Happy !

  • Man, what an intro. If it were to play in the background as I lived my entire life, I wouldn't mind, not even a bit.

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERATED SONGS EVER

  • I'm pretty sure that is Richard Manuel in the first picture with Bob Dylan.

  • @eeky1234 i agree..

  • is that David Gilmour at >>>>> 2:00 ?

  • @mab31122 no they didnt. im not sure what he said but i know its spanish.

  • @oriolesmagic100 They did say paperazzi. It is a spanish word. They beatles didn't know what the words meant though. All the words in spanish are words that don't make sense together even in that language. They just thought they sounded good together. Paul remembered the words from school

  • @john1968326 It's Italian.

  • @OriahLivingston No, all the words at the end are in spanish

  • @john1968326 Obrigado for example in the last verse is Portuguese and means thank you and the mi amore after the "paparazzi" correct spelling, is I love in Italian. I would double check your sources.

  • @OriahLivingston you are right, the words are a mix between spanish and itallian

  • @john1968326 Lol wait actually mi amore is my love not I love, seems it's been a while for me haha

  • @DieWalrossen Okay so they all have words that might mean something in other languages, but it's all Spanish as well? What's Obrigado (Thank You in Portuguese) like I put above or Mi Amore (My Love in Italian) mean in Spanish? You won't find a translation just so you know, all you will get is Gracias and Mi Amor b/c there's only one way to say thank you and my love in Spanish. Do you consider yourself a linguist? Lol

  • @OriahLivingston Do you stay on youtube 24/7? You replied really fast and google translate isn't really a great tool buddy. "Mi Amore" is Spanish for "My love" and the song doesn't say "Obrigado" it says "Abrigado" which is Spanish for "Hot" or "Warm". And I never called myself a linguist, but thanks anyways for giving me a chance too show how much more superior I am than you and how much more Spanish I know than you ;). You should probably sign off youtube now. Lol

  • Comment removed

  • @OriahLivingston Lol why did you remove your comment? Don't bother replying back I'm just going to block your comments. Kthxbye.

  • @DieWalrossen Lol this is you: hey I got a question! but don't respond back. Then don't ask one Pinche puta

  • Comment removed

  • of all the pop songs about Louis XIV , I can say this is my favourite

  • What the heck! Hendrix with can of Lucky Lager. Too funny.

  • this is one of those songs that gets stuck in your head for years and you might not even really notice....,its so chill

  • did they say paperazzi? IM not dysletic

  • donde esta la bibliotecca?

  • who were the 4 morons who disliked?

Everyone would be listening to real unadulterated crap if it wasn't for these guys..... and this album.....

  • but you snuck a pic of the beatles after Led Zep and just before Mamas and Papas

    :P

  • Said George Harrison: The most difficult vocal tracks The Beatles ever laid down......amen brother......amen

  • i wish i had this song stuck in my head forever

  • (drum fill) meaaan mr mustard sleeps in the park shaves in the dark tryin ta save papah.

  • I love the Beatles, but the truth is they heard Fleetwood Mac's Albatross and rip it. They were amazed by their use of reverb.

  • John ripped this off of Georges song "Something" Heeeeere cooooomes the suuun king - same chords as Somthing, and it's no coincidence that the word "Something" sounds just like "Sun King"...That was Lennons genius though, he could take someone elses idea and make it his own.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Yeah, but the rest of the song sounds nothing like it.

  • @JamesTKirkCobain not same chords. you know nothing

  • @JamesTKirkCobain Hmm ... and I always thought it was ripped off from Peter Green's Albatross!

  • the bass sounds a bit farty at the opening of the track, but works well - wonder if that's this copy, or is on the original record? need to listen again! It's amazing how there's always a new wrinkle to the Beatles' songs each time you hear them.

  • that my dads lest favorite song from abbey road

  • Listening to this song generates the same feeling of looking at a tranquil moonlit lake, with blindingly bright stars above the tree line, with autumn air hanging in the cool caressing breeze.

    So serene.

  • Beatles is great, man. I don't belong in my generation, with all this crappy music. I wish i was born in the 60's

  • is there a better song to listen to than "Sun King" while you're completely blown out? Nope. I love to sit on the couch with the headphones on and let it penetrate my body. So soothing!

  • Hmm this or Albatross?

  • my friend named Zahra King put me on 2 this song today, i totally had 2 add it 2 my favorites. i MISS real music. peace

  • is that snookie at 1:08?

  • aaaaw iLOVE that first picture of Bob Dylan ! :')

  • Damn this song makes you have to get high. I'm relaxed

  • Very good recording and the sound is great like on the master recordings; Chuck Berry's Deep Feeling and Fleetwood Mac's Albatros.

  • @Brav3SRunn3R11 mee too bro hahaaaa

  • :) WE all love the beatles. <3

    THIS MUSIC IS BEAST

    -14 year old

  • @supercr1 your age means nothing.

your not special cause your 14 and listen to the beatles

  • @boi2613 He's just saying that all ages love the beatles. Not that its special to be a 14 year old who listens to em. Just that any age you could like the beatles

  • @boi2613 ...LOL..I agree.....I was born yesterday, and I listen to Rachmaninoff.....imagine that! ☼

  • @boi2613 I never said I was more special then you are, aren't we all important? I was saying however, if you asked most kids down the road what was there favorite band was they would say Ke$ha, Lady gaga, which is fine I listen to that too but mostly for dancing what im saying is the beatles have real lyrics which to me is what music is all about "I want to hold your hand" vs. "enough with your chit chat just show me where your di*cks at". Dont be quick to judge..

  • @boi2613 yesss. :)

  • @boi2613 He's not saying he is.

  • Every song the beatles wrote or covered was excellent. There are many bands I love and for many reasons but ALWAYS the Beatles will be THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME

  • i miss beatles, i was born in the wrong decade :(

  • @slowrideist I WAS TOO!!!!

  • @slowrideist mee too !! i just love this music, the era, we are living a superficial era... =S

  • @slowrideist or maybe the beatles were born in the worng decade? We could really use them right now, pop today is just getting worse and worse.

  • @slowrideist Never heard that one before.

  • @slowrideist I was born in the right decade and I miss them way more than you can imagine!!!

  • @slowrideist If you were born in the wrong decade, you would not be able to miss them! you were never around in the decade they were around

  • @slowrideist shut ur punk ass up! no you weren't

  • @slowrideist Well,We did see your Granny and Grandad there in the old black & whites,so its in your jeans & in yor genes too!

  • this beatiful song is so underrated...

  • Comment removed

  • Yeeaaa

    cock

  • This sounds like Albatross.

  • why u have jimi hendrix and others in the pic put pics of the beatles

  • led zeppelin y the beatles yes

  • no other band could or would have had the imagination, confidence or song-writing skill to come up with such a unique song - from Abbey Road but could easily have topped as a single - same could be said for most of their album songs. Pure brilliance.

  • @graham211, I think Abbey Road is the best Rock album. My father purchased the cassette in 1973, and I played it until the tape was thinner. I was 5 years old and so deep hypnotized with this music.
