  • great tutorial, but given the amount of equipment it is gonna need, not possible for me to build one such, can u plz build a wooden table like the one below

    watch?v=ZSEqJ8Lh5qg

  • how much weight it could support?

  • @marcusmoloch

to answer your question i just sat on the one i built. supported me just fine. i weigh 170 lbs.

  • good deal

  • i wish i had something that could protect it from kinetic and drop damage... can you help us build somthing that can make our lapops imune to desk distant falls? please1 thanks

  • Brilliant. Well done!

  • how much to make it

  • Thanks a lot sir... this is what i was looking for.... so sweet of u..... God bless u...!!!!!!

    Am building mine tmrw...

  • All tools what you need to make it - 1000$. New professionall table for laptop - 50$

  • @Bartlej

1000$ for tools? wtf. What, a drill and some bits? find a weight at a garage sale or swap meet if you dont have one already. it's an awesome stand, easy to modify, solid as a rock. great job, thanks mr. pless.

  • Please go to Instructables and search for "Build a furniture quality Laptop Stand and TV Tray" The whole project is there. For some reason youtube doesn't allow you to post urls in these comments. Good luck!

  • Cheaper just to buy a stand. Those tools are expensive.

  • I kinda get it but you might want to point out where each piece you are working on is located on the finished stand. I was disoriented, not sure where each piece was in relation to each other. That made it difficult to follow the project as you went along. I like the stand and think it is a nice idea.

  • @mud2skipper The project was for a contest years ago on Instructables. Please go to Instructables and search for "Build a furniture quality Laptop Stand and TV Tray" The whole project is there. For some reason youtube doesn't allow you to post urls in these comments.

  • I like it without the pvc.

  • Can I just buy it from you? hahahaaha

  • This is really great. Video quality is very good and instructions are perfect. Smart guy! As far as magnets thats up for debate I guess. Apple uses magenets to hold in the AC adapter on their laptops and some laptops have magnets to hold the lid shut. I think in this case they are fine. Definately want to keep strong magnets away from computers though.

  • Wow. I love watching through the whole process of the project. Love the magnetic pop-ups. Great idea & delicate craftsmanship.

  • very nice lapstand ,but too hard for me to make one . I don't have the tools

  • I like this stand. It would be nice to have a list of tools used and a parts list for those like me that need to start buying the tools to start a new hobby.

  • @opticaldeejay Please go to Instructables and search for "Build a furniture quality Laptop Stand and TV Tray" The whole project is there. For some reason youtube doesn't allow you to post urls in these comments. Good luck!

  • hi i dont think i recommand magnets lol for that it might interfere with the hard drive

  • Brilliant video. Thanks, this is my weekend project now!

  • Should magnets be close to computers?

  • Can you make a list of items that you need, and the tools that you need to complete the job.

  • this is a hansom desk

  • Magnets plus laptops and magnets? I have my phone near my laptop once and it cause the screen to go black. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that magnets aren't a good idea for use in a laptop stand.

  • Great video, but i was wondering if you could put a swivel on it so it can go from side 2 side?

  • waoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • wow only 4k worth of tools needed to build a tacky piece of crap

  • Nice! Very creative! Congratulations for your invención! Good boy!

  • nice stand i might build one!

  • молодец! очень умно!

  • NIce work!!!!

  • i think people are missing the point of "laptops" here! (LAP-TOPS!)

  • @MatthewBryce You do know that's a made up word? They're Notebooks and Mobile computers.

  • @MatthewBryce

it's medically proved that laptop's can make you sterile so...

you don't want your laptop near your balls ;9

  • @jmpatinhas15 so no babies for me then... oh what a shame! :P

  • @ThisIsBabyKane LOL xD

  • very creative:)

  • that was epic it wud prob cost bout a million quid 4 all the parts nd tools but other than one good stand lol

  • Super Video

    thanks

  • wow, loved it, sad i dont have all the tools to build 1, i really liked it

  • wooow how many have you done lol everything is perfect if i make somthing more then certainly somthing goes wrong

  • Thanks for the kind words! You could VERY easily convert this for a wall mount and save a lot of time. Simply mount the hinge to the wall with a prop rod instead of the spring. Good luck!

  • My respects for you Sr. you are really good , and I want to ask you kindly how about a fall down table, you know that one that goes on the wall and it just falls down. 'cause i have the idea but I'm not sure ,I want to save some space. I'd really apreciate your response .Thank you very much and have a nice time

  • I used to have that same POS Kawasaki drill. I burned it up in no time.

  • yeah, everyone has that type of equipment lol. looks cool tho

  • tnx 1 question can i use plastic tube.

  • no, it's too flexible.

  • @su783 then why did you even think about clicking on the video?

  • How much does this thing weight?

  • sorry i fale to sleep

  • why use a spring, instead of a rod?

  • I want something like that, but smaller...the stand would be sitting on a table. Probably gonna use pvc pipes instead though

  • great project awesome idea

  • sorry but to buy and modify this elements will cost you probably more monet and time that you think, now you can buy nice stand for 40 or 50 bucks

  • ok,nice stand but.......basic tools? yeah,right

  • HAHAHAHAHAAAA

    "Oh Hey"

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Great job. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more.

  • cheese and rice .nice video i want to build one for my laptop.. cool thx a lot for share dude ..!

  • woouuvvv :O

  • love it :P

  • I would never build one, but I enjoyed your comprehensive instruction with techniques.

    Cheers!

  • GREAT DUDE!!

Im gonna try to make one, I really need it, this idea is so helpful, THANKS a LOT!

  • great job

  • I want your workshop. Not fair.

  • nice video!

  • Thanks bro. Loved the peg board stand project.

  • thanks.......and aaahhh crap

winners just announced and I'm not one of them :(

  • Really good video! I never get bored watching theze kinds of videos. These are the videos that keep me entertained and not bored!!!

  • This is an amazing project and a very through instructional video. How do you think of these things?

  • I don't even know why they named it a "laptop" to begin with. Didn't the initial developers start using it on their laps and realize it was singeing their nut hammocks and radiating their sperm?

  • Wow, awesome job. How many hours does it take you to complete this?

  • It took him a little under two hours, I believe.

  • Yeah, I guess it's a relative term. But most people have a power drill. The tap set is only about $20. The drill bits will cost the most if you don't have them already.

Personally, I use every project as an excuse to buy more tools. ;-)

  • Are you selling these stands?

  • cool project, but the tools used aren't necessarily "basic."

  • they where mostly basic until he busted out the taps.

  • Thanks for the Kudos! A rod would be more secure, but presents the problem of banging your leg on it when in the down position. The spring is cool because it is very strong if you maintain a perpendicular orientation to the hinge tab, but soft on the legs. ;-)

I do a lot of welding and machining for most of my projects, but really wanted something anyone could build quickly. So this hinge lock seemed best. You can build this stand in under two hours!

  • Very awesome project! I hope you continue doing more nifty projects like this! Just wondering if using a small rod to adjust the tilt angle of the table instead of the spring would have been a little better.

  • this is awesome

    thanks for the specific instructions

  • cool project!!
