I rode this ride 5 times, and nearly crapped my pants every time... it doesn't look that bad, but when ur being jerked around in every direction, then a huge carnitorous starts roaring beside u... u shall scream for the entire ride.

I remembered the first time I went in 2004, I was maybe 7 or younger and I came out in the photo with one ear plugged and the other ear not. Then, when I went again in 2010, (14 years old) and I came out in the same pose as I did in 2004. That just shows you that even when you grow you change, there are still characteristics that never change. :)

@3000Starr It depends is she a easily scared girl? You feel quite close to the dinosaurs at times and there is a lot of loud noises. Even I, an 18 year old felt a little freaked by the ride... :)

Best ride EVER!!! Only cuz my pop won a free fully paid week vaction to disney world when i was 15-ish, Thru GM. They closed down Animal Kingdom for GM people only... Needless to say I went on that ride 17 times in a row with no lines or crazy screaming babies :D

It's not a rollercoaster. It's a themed dark ride with the same track system and layout as the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.

The car moves along an electrified track in the center of the floor, like a bit slot-car. The rest of the car's motion is performed by a set of hydraulic pistons inside each car. The animatronic dinos and pitch black make this scary...but this version is toned down from the original "Countdown to Extinction", to be more kid friendly.

This ride is SO underrated by people and often missed. It's incredibly cool. If you sit in the front row, left side, you'll get the best ride, and the best scares. It's not a thrill ride, but a calm ride through a forest of Dino's... till a meteor shower comes and then it gets really bumpy and FUN. I love the use of the dark and loud sounds to scare the crap outta ya. The huge dino running towards your vehicle, with the bass just THUMPING, add to a really cool moment. I give it 4.5 / 5

ThoroughlyModernMeli, this is the answer to your question. The do have a drop, but it is not big. The drop is at the end when the Carnatorous pops up in front of you and roars. If you like thrill rides I am sure you will enjoy this one. :)
