I wasn't defending McDonalds! I was just suprised that someone would make such a lame comment in support of Starbucks after their lame comment about the olympics. Coffee is just a laxative anyway.

Starbucks aren't complete corporate shit bags. I used to work for them and they were pretty cool. When a little coffee place across the street got run out of business, Starbucks gave every employee from over there a job with us.

Not exactly "with China" in the same sense as Texas is with the US. Irrelevant - the Olympics have little to do with Tibet except that they're both in China.
Rory's right, SBUX has good ethical standards (regardless of how they actually play out) and isn't your standard evil corporation.
SBUX hardly advertises in mass media; McD's recently ceased advertising to children.
I think one can easily see where the line (between profit-seeking and unethical profit-seeking) lie.
