Im having a F22b1 swaped out in my car right now. My mechanics down stairs with the engine in and the cars ready to crank so im super excited about the swap and glad i didnt have to do it myself in the cold. Cool Video. Honda Love. Im about to have fun!
Hi i have been a honda fan since need for speed underground but i have only had a 1994 Accord ex with a f22b2 engine in it that i sold and never drove all my cars have been fords and i'm about to get a 1995 civic DX but the 102 hp wont do it for me i want a h22 the good thing about living in S,C is h22's are cheap at the junkyard i mean $250 for a H22A4 with 90,000 miles that starts up and runs fine u would have to be crazy not to get it. But i want to no is will i have to swap the tranny?
@Quincy618 I also live in South carolina. You can get an H2D kit from Bisimoto Engineering which is sort of an adapter plate that will let you swap in the H22 with the D series transmission. Or you could go to the trouble of getting all new transmission parts and stuff.
Get an F23A1 Intake Manifold for that F22B1. It'll pull alot harder and helps feed your lower and topend power. I did it on my B1 that I had when I dropped in my Bisi Level 2 VTEC cam. Pulls like no other SOHC.
@adp29501 If you used you stock f22a ecu on your f22b1 then vtec is not working. f22a ecu cannot run vetc that’s why you have a CEL Also the wring for a vtec in a non vtec car is fairly simple. Only need to wire up vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch. Why did you swap out your f22a? that is a better platform over the f22b1. sohc vtec is for low end not high end like h22/b18/b16 vtec engines. Totally different type of vtec. One is made for fuel economy and the other for high revving
@g22cd5 are you the same g22cd5 from the accord forum? This is Jap.doe lol
but agreed, im doing a head swap to make mine an f22a6 and running a p12 ecu. h23 intake mani. only temporary until i get my bottom end built. and he says 180hp??
i have this engine in my 94 and unless theres some mods inside he's not mentioning thats bs lol
@adp29501 already have 245,000 runs great at this rate that car will last over 400,000 miles atleast by the care this car gets. i just want to make sure it can handle a little bit of heavy acceleration when i want it to, but i normaly baby the car. I just dont want the thing to blow up on me. lol
i had an f22b2 turbo prelude 95, and a f22a1 turbo in the same car SON! lol. til it was stolen :( it was nice enough to trade even for a 2003 civic si hatch.. EVEN... then my hatch was stolen, not actually the prelude
I got the same swap in my 92 CB7. I running the POH Ecu. Works goods, and bypasses all EGR, No circuit for it, so even better. U can get a PO6 Chipped for our setup, The Stock p28 doesnt have the Vtec circuitry.
yo i did the same swap i need help on wiring my vtec is it possible to wire it up to the factory ecu? hit me up on facebook with the answer michael martino youll see pics of the car there
For the record this car ran a whole lot faster than this old video. This is when I just finish putting the motor in and yes it spun first when v-tech hit on some 225/45/17 tires and I had a lot of mode including h22 fuel pump jfk irdiums plugs and wires msd kit cold air intake on h22 intake manifold with custom 3 inch exhaust from headers and 45 shot of nitrous I raped civic and mustangs all day before comprehension got then I sold it.
Question: I have a 95 accord swap with this same engine. But my car wont rev pass 3.5 The ecu is a P0A. I know its probably an electricial problem, I just cant figure it out. What do you think??
@adp29501 Yeah my vtec was set at 35 when i got it from this kid, but its been changed to 40.. 35 was way to early and was hard trying to get it to take off like it had enough air coming in.. F22b motors can be made to run like a h22 with a bit of work.. poor motor cant handle to much boost tho lol...
nice vid cuase its almost like my car but if you guys want a hard crossover on the f22b1 vtec go with p28 ecu chipped for accord and then tell me about it i got a 1990 accord coupe f22b1 with this ecu and its loud and pulls you from your seat hard got around 180hp on it right now will be posting a vid soon gots cold air intake, exhaust, chipped ecu, dc header, gas shocks also got the stock f22 non vtec distributor and poping vtec i want to see who gots that on f22b1...h22 is the best tho 200hp
i no longer have this car ihave a rx8 now and i would not advise doing ths swap its to much u have to do and u dont get that much power out it stivk with h22 if u want power snd its alot easier to do
@Hipkebros i cant hardly find nothing for my f22b1 i checked into bisi's site and his applications are really expensive. is that the only cams that can be found for the f22b1? i know that bisi is the best expecially for sohc but for that kind of price i might as well jump on the dohc bandwagon. im h22z1 swapping the accord and kinda thought the ol f22 would bang in my ef hatch lol its almost a 50% increase considering my ol dpfi d15b1 has only 73 hp 80 tq
