The movie was filmed in 1979, but was released in the summer of 1980.

I wasn't born yet either. Its waaay older than me!!! I WANT to see the second one....I loved this one with all the bad acting and weirdly sweet romance....it was cool. Now, the second one looks just like a remake of the first one...even the actors look somewhat the same!!!!

I personally didn't like the second one at all. 'Cause they actually don't follow the same sequence of ending of the first one. They try to link it, but for me it didn't work out, 'cause I was kinda expecting that the characters of the first one lived and went back to civilization. For me it would've been a lot more interesting the story of adapting to civilization again, and then finding thmselves going back (returning) to "The Blue Lagoon." And when that didn't happen, I got bummed out.

LOL... perhaps the ocean plus the the love story!! haha.. even though the love stories are completely different. At the beginning of th Blue Lagoon the boat they were on sinks; and the Titanic is at the end that the ship sinks (so they kinda have that in common also). =)
