I've read that the designers did originally plan to have the sonic and knuckles cartridge to play with sonic 1. what i read said that the original didn't have the right color pallettes, so including him would have messed up the color graphics or something like that.

i assumed the eggman thing in america started in SA1...whatever the case thats were sonic started sucking for me. at first it was cool because the dreamcast launching and new sonic, finally. but after that wore off, i just didn't really like sonic with the new character design, voice acting, music, etc.

i dont know, i thought SA1 and SA2 were decent games at best, even if you look past not wanting to accept the "new generation" of sonic.

There's a slight difference in palette coloring. In this palette, Knuckles is as red as he is in SONIC 2. But what I have from this hack is the fixed palette. Not to mention the checkpoints and title cards are still blue, although the lampposts will still be red after the touching.

A great hack that should have been in the first place, had SEGA tried to change the palette colour of Knuckles' shoes or something...which is...weird...Nevertheless, a great "what-if" scenario for the lock-on technology, and very well-made with Knuckles having all his original moves intact as well. Great job.

Joel, you're an idiot. Your pedantic elitism regarding names amongst other things is unnecessary.

The port on Sonic and Knuckles only worked with Sonic 2 and 3, not with Sonic 1. It didn't just port the sprite for Knuckles, but allowed to to glide and climb. This feature was never available in Sonic 1, even with the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge. This is a hack which makes it possible.

Come on now, you could play Knuckles in any of the Sonic games if you ahd Sonic and Knuckles which had a built in port which would port Knuckles into any game. How the rom works is that it takes the image of Knuckles in the game from the legit source and bingo you got it. Sheesh this is what we get for a generation that calls Robotnik Eggman... damn... anyway knuckles rules so there.
