This version just proves my point that when this song is not sung by an eleven-year-old boy or a mentally handicapped, slightly insane person (Toby if you've seen the play), it is actually a beautiful love song. When in context of Sweeney...it's a bit disturbing, really.

I'm not sure why the vibrato in this song, as well as when he sang johanna, is so overdone. Its clear that he usually controls it differently on his other songs but for some reason its very over the top to me in this one. Still good though, just more vibrato than I would expect to hear too

Don't get me wrong, I love vibrato too. But I just think that at say one or two particular points in this song, the vibrato got a bit too thick and rather than being a gentle ascending and descending around the center of the pitch, he widened the gap both above and below the center. But, I cannot fault him for artist voice and he's fantastic and besides, the distance above and below center was even so he didn't do anything improper after all
