we have A2's and we run 19 :) we can Run 20 and 21 but we dont wanna Risk a Dbl Load
the other Center in Pikeville ( 20 mins from my house ) they have Converted a2's which they run 21 in them :) and they have alot of Jams,Belts break,Pins chewed up and alot of Blackouts :)
We have old greenies too. Ours are feild converted. They were A's, which were made by OTIS elevator 8000 serial #'s. But now run at jetback speed with 27:1 gearboxes. Keeping these machines cleaned and lubed, they run very well.
yeah we had old pins in waiting for new ones, put those belt guards on to stop it, having to replace most of my pin wheels as they are very very worn out so was causing bad turn pan action. since putting in new pin wheels and guards been all good
What is destroying your pins? Several pins in both racks had some pretty bad belt burns in them. Was this just a set you used to make the film clip? I don't think you would let a bowler bowl at those few nasty looking pins in those racks. You know bowlers, they would think the pin has grease all over it.
yup they are old converted A's, this by the over travel cam on the 1:1. Average serial number on these 24 machines is 4000 made is chicago so very oldest, produced in July 1957.
if i have a Center i Prefer the Brunswick A2 machines :) only Best ones i've seen.

AMF ( there ok ) but to complicated

Brunswick=pinsetter
AMF=pinspotter
If you had a qualified mechanic, 21 pins wouldn't be a problem.
I can make A-2's run perfectly.
