I went to an ECKANKAR meeting once. They were telling how much deeper their teachings are than other religions, including metaphysical religions. Their theme for that day was love. I did not hear anyone say anything about love that sounded any deeper that what have heard from other religions, so I dismissed them as just another pretentious group claiming "we have truths higher than anyone else". But I do think the "HU" chant is very powerful.
@bearnurse1 Surely by now, looking back, you do know the love that was there. It's hard not to "sound" hypocritical for a person who is sincere and happy in these days of so much darkness. Finding the truth can be daunting when people think they need a "miracle" as proof. Count your blessings and the smallest of miracles will reveal itself. It's gratitude that magnifies goodness.
@iwasnotalone I have no doubt that tlove was there in the room at that ECK meeting I attended. If you want to get someone to join your group don't be dismissive of the groups he/she is currently in.

@bearnurse1 There is no drumming up for membership in Eckankar, Truth cannot be pushed on anybody. Human's aren't ever going to be perfect and that disdain you heard pertaining to other paths was spoken by one; and maybe there was a spiritual lesson for you in that. I now see how Divine Spirit is working in my life; more grounded; a reality of a better me is always in existence. .
Hu is the most ancient mantra used by the human race to contact the divine. Simple put it is the sound of all sounds within the many spiritual dimensions of god. It is in essence the pure experession of god itself. And it is this sound that soul uses to connect directly to spirit on it journey back home. All souls no matter what spiritual path they may follow in this lifetime are connect to this sound. For in the end we are all apart of divine love.
When you are ready the teacher will appear. From that moment on your understanding of things will be at a loftier level. Only then will you understand the HU, the love song to God. Experience is the best teacher. The HU does things to me.

ive NEVER heard anyone in ECK say that ECK is the ONLY way. NEVER. the ECK Masters openly state and recognize the necessity and validity of ALL paths. and this is said in the teachings ... over and over.
Eckankar was never ment to be a religion - the word itself denotes dogma, which to me means truth tainted by ego in an effort to control as a sheppard does sheep ergo hiding enlightment.
Pure Eckankar is the ancient SCIENCE of Soul travel. All individuals walk their own path towards home, as intended by SUGMAD (AKA - God, Allah, Buddha, Prime Creator, etc. etc.).

I found this very relaxing and it brought me into a more meditative state. I hear a hissing, almost buzzing sound when I listen to this which I usually get when I meditate. Thanks for sharing.

I was a 1/2 on atheist before I discovered the HU Song 30 some years ago. I had always been curious about spiritual things however, because I sensed that behind the chaos of life, was a much larger harmony.

Their pitch drifts down considerably over time. It creates a negative feeling for me. It was quite pleasant until the pitch started drifting down and pulling me down with it.
@VirgilFoxMusic You pitch to suit yourself. In an Eck group when we sing the 'Hu' the male tends to sing in a low pitch and the women often sing in a high tone and with a lot of vibrato-this gives the resonance which one needs to attain in the inner planes/worlds.
@mysticmeg111 Thanks, I was referring to the overall pitch. If you listen to the start then slide the pointer to the end and compare you will hear what I mean. I am quite sensitive to pitch change, so I can detect the slow drift downward which has a creepy negative effect on me. Ideally, the group should be able to maintain a constant pitch. I have since heard another "hu" group which can do this.

Hu is the most ancient mantra used by the human race to contact the divine. Simple put it is the sound of all sounds within the many spiritual dimensions of god. It is in essence the pure experession of god itself. And it is this sound that soul uses to connect directly to spirit on it journey back home. All souls no matter what spiritual path they may follow in this lifetime are connect to this sound. For in the end we are all apart of divine love.

Soul (us) and SUGMAD (God) are basically of same nature. The difference between god and us is only consciousness. Thats why we are sent to the lower worlds... to get experience... to get God consciosness... but first we need Soul Consciousness or Self-Realization. I was a 1/2 on atheist before I discovered the HU Song 30 some years ago. I had always been curious about spiritual things however, because I sensed that behind the chaos of life, was a much larger harmony.
Once I started singing HU, I began to experience an inner light and sound that my childhood religion knew nothing about. In short, I found the harmony I was looking for. I still didn't believe in the "God" of my youth, but found something far more real and refreshing.

can't we just all get along?? There are many religions for all kinds of people. we all are attracted to the religion we are most aware of, how we can best serve God and all of man kind. @VirgilFoxMusic You pitch to suit yourself. In an Eck group when we sing the 'Hu' the male tends to sing in a low pitch and the women often sing in a high tone and with a lot of vibrato-this gives the resonance which one needs to attain in the inner planes/worlds.

I am quite sensitive to pitch change, so I can detect the slow drift downward which has a creepy negative effect on me. Ideally, the group should be able to maintain a constant pitch. I have since heard another "hu" group which can do this.

I know there has been baloney, plagiarism and everything else. I don't care. HU rocks it. I don't swallow ECK whole, there are parts I leave out and parts I keep. I'm not in a cult, I just know their tech works and there's an underlying sound of everything. It goes with everything, it plays beneath everything. 1. the replies here allow only 500 digits, so I have to reply several times to complete some points.
2. It is eayy to make several mistakes in one short sentence, and the correction of each requires a paragraph, so this necessarily skews the writing volume in favor of the reckless.
3. Form previous experience I have to anticipate lame retorts, so I have to write my replies in such a way as to make idiotic replies actually appear idiotic even to their authors.

Hi I was asked to sell over 140 tapes on ECK and about 14 ECK type music tapes. They have Sri Paul Twitchell Sri Harold Klemp in the lot where would be a good place to sell them and what price range for them is good. They are dated mid to late 60's on.

Since you're obviously an expert on the matter, how did they go about brainwashing your Dad? Was it because he made his own decision to follow a living Master instead of worshiping someone who's been dead for 2,000 years? Could it be that a living Master just might (might) knows something relevant about the spiritual life? I've been a member for 4 years now.
