  • i want steves right hand 0_O

  • holy shit!! this is really impossible to do unless you're harris

  • He is always using 3 finger :)

  • @6mercenary9

He never uses three fingers. Always two. He said that himself and if you concentrate on his playing, you can see it as well. The middle finger and the ring finger always move in an accordance, that's why it seems like he is using the third also. But the fingers that are doing the work are the middle and the index.

  • @6mercenary9 he dont use 3. hes said and the other band members have said that he just uses his index and middle finger.

  • I can play this and yes with two fingers. Anything is possible if you practice hard.

  • @BlackenedThunder im gettin there XD

  • Hmm. As a bass player myself i have a hard time playing 2:29 to 2:50 with my 3 fingers. HOW THE HELL IS STEVE DOING IT WITH TWO? XD

  • @tokorev747777 this is not that fast :P I play power metal with my fingers..Way fasters and way longers XD

  • @halogamers Same here man, Try playing Cannibal Corpse! Lol But Steve uses just two fingers at that.

  • And this is why Steve Harris is one of the resons I picked up playing bass.

  • @jeremylovesmusic1 Same here. The first time I heard number of the beast I couldnt get over how powerful the bass line was and I was deadset on getting a bass after that and I did ;)

  • @charliegrs

3 of my other favorite bassists are John Entwiste of The Who, Cliff Burton of Metallica and Geddy Lee of Rush.

  • Actually, this can be played with one finger. You just trill back and forth, hitting the string in both directions. In fact, you can play even faster than this.

  • @asfarasmars Yeah so atleast your fingernail hits the string and it gives a poop sound. No sir this is not how to play it

  • @Dennis19901 Thank you.

  • @Dennis19901 I wasn't saying Steve plays it like that. He uses two fingers in the traditional plucking technique. I was just pointing out an alternate way to play fast lines. And your fingernail doesn't hit the string if you play at the right angle. It takes practice, but it can be done and can be very fast and quite powerful. There are no rules, whatever works for you personally is the way to play it.

  • @asfarasmars yeah right!steve is the master and you are in denial.he only happens to be the best basist ever just like his band!

  • @fearedlegend Denial? about what? Steve and Iron maiden are great, no doubt....at metal. They're obviously your favorite, but the best? Everyone is different man, branch out. Listen to other players and styles, it'll make you a better well-rounded player, Don't limit yourself to just metal. You'd be surprised to know what Steve himself listens to. There are many techniques to playing bass.

  • Steve Harris and something impossible?

    HAHAHAHAHAHA :D

  • out of all the bass only youtube clips..this must be the worst

  • I'm not buying that it's Steve. He plays with force, vigor, and finess. No way something this sloppy is the the master recording. It sounds like someone practicing unplugged in the back of a church, trying not to be heard. Watch any live video, he plucks the hell out of each note and uses all 4 fingers.

  • @AndrewScorres your an idiot. steve harris has NEVER used more than 2 fingers. that IS steve. that "Sloppy" sound is his extra heavy bass strings hitting the fret board because his technique requires extreme down strumming

  • To me almost sounds like he's using a pick, but I guess I'm wrong... Maybe some stainless steel strings? Idk but can you "experts" tell me what kind of strings he's using? I understand he may be using to fingers but I get the same result with three.

  • 2:29-2:50 OMG O=

  • TOO FAST

    lol

  • I can play the whole song , but damn this should be the fastest I've ever played and i won't do it twice in a row for sure :D

  • gotta admit, he is a bit sloppy with his right hand

  • @Metalhead12828 I agree, I have never heard this before and my technique is far more clean, which I thought wasn't the case...interesting...

  • @Metalhead12828

Well you gotta consider that he's pretty much self-taught, and most of the time they don't really develop a clean technique. And when you gotta consider the speed he's playing at too!

  • 2:29-2:50 WAATT THE FUCK.

  • Comment removed

  • 2:29 - 2:50 He's doing it with 2 fingers...Or with other words..he has always been playing with 2 fingers since he got his bass.

  • @AnthonVictorChannel theres no way in hell hes going like that with 2 fingers. no one can move their fingers that fast

  • @Metalhead12828 Have you ever seen them live, standing in front of the stage when harris comes, taking a step up on the monitors and start pointing with the bass on YOU? I don't think so...I've seen it myself.

  • @AnthonVictorChannel i love how people say shit like that. how do you know i havent seen him live?

  • @Metalhead12828 And I hate inept people who think if they can't do something, then no one else can...

  • @FilipUNIBO umm, i can play this on bass. there you go assuming you know me again.

  • @Metalhead12828 I "know" you from your comments which are contradictory: first you say that NO ONE can play RTTH that fast with just 2 fingers (no one = including Steve Harris), but then you add that YOU can play it!? :S

  • @Metalhead12828 I didn't say that you haven't seen them live...But one thing i know for sure is that you haven't seen what I've seen that I said in the comment above.

  • @Metalhead12828 well, steve can. there's even a vid on here where he talks about it

  • @AnthonVictorChannel can you explain me why do they say he plays with one finger?

  • @Stainbreak

    Noone says that lol

  • @FilipUNIBO thank U for uploading the track, I'll be waiting for it, good job, is very useful what you do :D

  • 2:29-2:50 IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

  • @TKillerC

Apart from the intro, it's the easiest part of the song for me. Believe me, keeping the pace on the verses and choruses are far harder.

  • you have the drums??? only drums? please y need listen

    thanks a lot

  • do you have the drum track

  • YES!!!!!!! finally, i can back it up with my guitar!

  • Muy bueno! Gracias Filip!!!
