@littlecolnman you tell him i think that it is great getting him totalty exited about fishing :D i no that my dad got me exited when i was a baby and i caught my first fish when i was a baby and now i catch 20 pounders tell your kid if he gets more into fishing maybe you could take him out on the ocean and he might just have the passion like i have for fishing and tell him if he wants catch a super big fish then you got to get big muscle and be strong trust me he will catch a huge fish :D

don't worry about the people talking crap..they probably never took their kids fishing!!!! And if they did it was probably not half as fun as your trip was. They probably spent the day trying to make their kids tournament fishermen instead of letting their kids have fun. Reminds me of when my youngest daughter caught her first fish. She mustve been 3 or 4 and caught a little sunfish, and in the process of "fighting it" a 6 pound largemouth ate the sunfish. Needless to say it almost dragged her off the bridge and I had to intervene. LOL
