Played MLG style since 05 and have seen the decrease in overall community drop(and rise)on a yearly basis.What I believe has some to do with dropping fanbase is;Game Developers have been putting to a degree "too" much realism in video games that detour competitive gamers and gaming away and makes the community/game popularity suffer.Look at H2 for example absolutely NO realism in it and it shaped gaming into what it is today!H3 had realism and was too "cartoony" for some players and when COD ar

I played halo 3 for 3 years in a row. 2007- end of 2010. On the first day of the reach beta I thought it was terrible. Then the game came out and it was fucking awful so ive been playing CoD since 2010 I hope halo 4 is like halo 3 and ill switch back. What you guys need to do is tweet 343 and tell them how to make the game. If halo 4 is bad halo is dead so tweet them contact them just get it changed

Pro teams need to stop playing musical chairs and keep a constant stable team for at least a year at a time. I mean I would like to see companies pay players to stay with certain teams. Just my two cents. Obviously this is easy to say and not so easy to put into practice.

Not comparing sports to video games cause thats a whole other topic. What is the most popular sport in the world? I would say soccer, and the only reason its so popular besides it is fun to play, is that its the easiest sport to play. Its the same with COD and Halo. Everyone plays COD cause its easy to play and is adaptable to many different people. Halo is hard to just pick up and play if you havent played any other halo game before, and thats why it may not have as big of a community as COD.

I disagree with that logic. SC2 is gaining more and more fans every tournament and is becoming very popular in Esport culture. That is definitely NOT because it is easy to play, because anyone who has ever watched SC2 or tried playing it knows that it takes a lot of effort, time, and skill to get good at. I would argue that people enjoy a particular sport because it is fun to watch. Halo Reach, in the 1st season, wasn't very fun to watch from a spectator's standpoint.

@ParrsYDuluxe no you point with soccer is wrong although you are right it is the most popular it is not because it is easiest to pick up its because it is played on a global scale and there is a lot of competitive nature to it.Look at sports like football where only really the US has a league and basketball where the USA dominates skill-wise and then there is video games like SC2 which is popular in places more than US such as germany and korea has a huge fan base and have 30 or so leagues.
