  • Haha, your car started falling apart at 1:51? Nah, but seriously. I'm fucking jealous. Can't wait till I've got enough cash to build a drift car and learn to drift. Might be a few more years.. Closest I've got so far is Need for Speed. :c...

  • Good driving mate, looks fun : )

  • so its just basic stock turbo, any other mod Pod filter frount mount intercooler>? Cause i have Hcr32 stock turbo with frount mount cooler

  • @ShufflaNeso

dont worry about power mate, stock 32's have more than enough to drift.

  • @inertiaMS Cheers champ, where abouts is this track looks like winton?

  • @ShufflaNeso

    mallala mate, in SA

  • What's the setup on your car suspension wise?? And are you running a 20,25 or 26?? To me it sounds like a RB20DE.

  • @RDGcelica1

in this vid the sus is pretty basic, stock bilstein b6 dampers with king springs and whiteline sway bars

    RB20DET

  • @inertiaMS Nice you have any recent videos and whats your output to the wheels?

  • @RDGcelica1

tonnes of recent stuff mate, same power though, around 180rwkw on a good day, down to 150rwkw

  • awesome driving

  • only beginners use e-brake

  • @overboostedlebaron

better me pulling my handbrake then you pulling ur dick

  • @overboostedlebaron says the guy that powerslides in parking lots....

  • pretty good effort mate, nice drifting, you could tell though that you needed just a bit more power for the exits on the big corners, she started to drive around the big corners rather than spin the wheels enough

  • yeh ive got a lot of grip (for the tyres im running) so although ive got a bit of power, its hard to really get them spinning hard. like u said, need more power.

  • very good driving! its beautiful to watch!

  • cheers mate

  • those 2nd gear corners are begging for a high speed feint entry or a braking drift

  • not much room to do anything there, but in later vids u can see my doing small scandos into it.

  • i wanna see you completely sideways before you wenter the corner!

  • easier said then done, even the pros arent repping tonnes of angle into there.

  • well yeah everything is usually easier said than done , but i mean start the drift before the turn. maybe go a little faster and yank the ebrake sooner

  • ah, e-brake, you're from the US, makes sense now lol

like i said, i have started doing scandos into that corner, this video is pretty old now, arse drags are boring, even if you enter earlier like you mentioned. over here and Japan scando entries are the desired entry and rewarded over the arse drag unlike america, and also europe from what ive seen.

  • Looks fun. How much is it to get in, and on what days.

  • at mallala its on Saturday nights or Sunday at 10am

  • oh and price for entry is 90 + a cams license (day pass is 20)

  • What was that rattaling sound?

Btw nice drifting though i wouldnt have thought a skyline would be practicle to drift.

  • as ive mentioned a few times here, its the tyre tread coming apart and hitting on the inside of the guard.

not sure why a skyline wouldnt be practical to drift, light, RWD, turbo 6cyl, sounds pretty good to me haha

  • I have to say.. I'm not for or against gripping or drifting, but one thing's for sure, pulling the ebrake and fishtailing in straights really doesn't look any good. Induced drifts is the only real appeal to drifting.

  • fishtails in this vid are mainly me warming up the tyres. also im pretty sure pulling the handbrake is a method to induce drift, but thanks for trying.

  • I'm not trying anything but to remark on how daft :P it looks when people fishtail like that for no reason, just for show.

As for ebraking into a drift, it is a way to start a drift but obviously not what I meant by "induce". I mean drifts where the transition between forward grippy motion and sideways drifting is as seemless as possible. Where you have as hard a time as possible telling the end of the raceline from the start of the driftline.

PC enuf for you? :P Nice car and nice drifts.

  • yeh, and thats what i aim for, but currently the car is setup in a way that it makes those kind of entries very unpredictable and risky, as soon as i have sorted out my diff, i will be using scando entries.

and as i said, its a practice day, i wasnt overly worried about how it looked, when u have to sit around in line and wait, tyres go cold and shit, i needed heat in the tyres, so i was doing small fishies to get the heat into them.

  • nice mate stock?

  • nah, car isn't stock, see the video description for the basic mods.

  • nice mate i might bring my vlt out for a run in a few week ends just finished its rebuild

  • don't think there will be a drift praccy in a while, next week is drift school, but its sold out.

also make sure u sort ur suspension and diff out before you go out, there's a lot of commodores that go out and spin on every corner and sit there doing burnouts haha

  • i know what ya mean .. mine was built for drifting and burnout comps it featured in motorvation 21 in the snake pit i have tien coil overs and a salisbury 10 bolt locked i also have a 180sx series 2 turbo its full drift spec and was featured in ignition

  • Big waste of rubber. I see only one thing, drifting is very unpractical.

  • How much laps can hold tyres? Or approximately how much time you can go on one rear tyre set?

  • how long is a piece of string haha. comes down to heaps of factors, technique, power, tyre brand, tyre condition, tyre tread, tyre size, tyre pressure.

the tyres that went there were either bridgestones or dunlops there, about 4mm of tread on them, and pressure was around 35psi. they lasted only a few laps, the next set i put on had about 5mm of tread, different brand, lasted about 6-8 laps.

  • drifting comes with problems, isn't it?

  • haha, well ive been pretty lucky so far, havnt had many issues. but tyres definately become a factor during drift and can often ruin a practice day, or at least take some track time away.

  • nice entrys but the exits need a lot of work... badass skyline btw

  • cheers mate, i think if anything it's the entries which need the most work as they arent any where near agressive enough, the exits being sloppy can be mostly attributed to my viscous LSD which moves around a lot and makes the car very unpredictable. that wil be out soon to make way for a 1.5 way

  • what was this noise around 1:50?

  • rear tyres were overheating and delaminating (falling apart) what you could hear is bits of tyre shredding off and flapping around against the inside of the guard.

  • ah, ok. Thanks for reply. Nice drifting btw :)

  • haha no probs, cheers mate.

  • Awesome incar footage - check out my clips of Winton (incar)

  • Go stewy go! Future top gear stig maybee?
