We were so close to being back in a major tournament... so close from qualifying from the group of death... and it was snatched away from us in a moment. We had a great chance of qualifying after the win against France at the parc des princes but blew it. I remember a scottish player boasting that even Brazil feared Scotland after our win in Paris, we then, of course, lost to to a "smaller" team. When we get our heads right and start respecting these so called "smaller" teams then perhaps we'll get back into the Euro, and world cup, finals stages again ;o)
PS: one thing no one can take away from Scots supporters is that we are "REAL" supporters!

get your facts straight idiot the so called 'smaller' team we drew with were ranked above us .... we ukraine and the 2 world cup finalists in our group and the reason we didnt qualify is we lost at home to italy in the final game due to a dodgy ref nothing else . as for the euros and the world cup face facts we just got humiliated in a group with pub players a few months ago. it wont be any different this time around as the players are very very average and hampden is no longer a fortress

"get you facts straight"? Scotland beat France in Paris on the 12th of September then beat Ukraine at Hampden only to go to Georgia and lose 2-0. I didn't know that Georgia was ranked above us. Oh, Georgia did win ONE other home game during that campaign, against "the faroe islands". That's the defeat that cost us our qualifaction, not the Italy game. better get YOUR facts right :o)~

@wright9342 I don't think its about respect, that campaign was a magnificent effort from everybody, we showed our potential as a team and competed fantastically, at the end of the day we were in a great position to qualify if we could beat italy, and I can't help but think we were hard done done by in that game.
