I think everyone needs to give Beckii some slack on her pronunciation. You probably aren't taking this into consideration, but going from a British accent to a Japanese accent is especially difficult. When I studied abroad in Japan, one of the English teachers for Japanese students was from Britain and, even though he learned Japanese when he was 9 years old, his British accent was still very thick. One cannot magically pick up a Japanese accent, not even with training.

Japanese culture is very different especially in regard to dancing. In the U.K we have breakdancers seriously snapping their joints to pull of crazy ass moves. In Japan it's a lot different. The image of her performing here is a very large part of japanese culture. The dancing as well as the singing is extremely popular. If you watched the documentary on how she got famous in japan they explain about the culture. You should go watch it before you critically comment on her so much.

Like Gyaru and Lolita and Visual Kei, all European and American based. Something that's unique that I've never seen here is Ganguro, it's mostly makeup based but it's really unique and fun looking. Harajuku and Akihabara styles are mostly exclusive to Japan because well...Anime nerds live in those cities :U
