The problem should be with the priests who committed the crimes, the bishops and cardinals who covered up the crimes and let them continue, and the DAs who refused to prosecute. The majority of Catholics were appalled by what was(is) going on in the church and took action by protesting and demanding criminal investigations.

If Kennedy does not accept Church teaching on fundamental issues like the sacredness of innocent human life, then he is not a practicing Catholic. This is a simple fact. Its too bad Ted Kennedy was not confronted by the Bishops in this way in his time. He caused a great scandal that his son is suffering for.

Innocent people die in all wars. In WWII, they died by the hundreds of thousands, if not millions. There will always be innocents that die in war. Imagine a 19 year old kid with a gun. In war, you try to survive. Innocents will be shot and killed. It happens in all wars. Don't hide behind massacres because they happen.
