This is awesome!!! It looks a lot easier than it really is. I have tried many times at school and it always ends up uneven. You're amazing at it. Great Job!!!
The choice of music for this video was fine until 1.03. After this the music is too harsh and dramatic that doesn't do justice to the delicacy of the pot being made.
I would recommend an Oboe concerto, 2nd movement from the Baroque period
I tried this tonight and it came out really nice. How do you trim the bottom? Do you trim on the wheel and then wire off? I generally like to trim a foot when leather hard but I fear the "petals" will break off. I love your videos - they are awesome!
My four-petalled bowl came out of the bisque kiln today and one of the four petals accidentally got cracked but I have thought of a way to deal with that. I think I'll sandpaper it until I get a smooth u-curve and after glazing, tell people that's the groove for the serving spoon. My three-petalled bowl came out of the kiln just fine, however. Thanks again for your great videos.
Thanks, Dan. I am going through your videos very carefully to pick up whatever tips I can before sitting down at the wheel during every pottery class.
I tried this today and it really works out like you showed. My bowl was a lot smaller so I only managed to get 4 sides and it ended up square but the petal effect came out exactly as you showed. Thanks a lot.
A BIT?
Your incredible!
I can't even compare..
