Do a Google-search for a story called “Deception on the Planet of the Apes.” This story picks up where the epilogue of “Battle” leaves off (i.e., in the year 2670). Near the end, readers learn that the Lawgiver’s narrative was a partly distorted and fictionalized account of what really happened in Caesar’s later years. This will allow fans to dismiss any contradictions or unanswered questions which “Battle” produces.
I actually thought this one was pretty good, the casting of Huston was great, he might've been doing it for the money, but with that voice he was always watchable
@jennifersman I agree... it was fine and served it's purpose. I thought it also showed the audience that history can be changed if we want to. When the apes revolted in the original story, man was always the enemy of the apes and they were lead by a gorilla who said no as Cornelius stated in the 3rd movie.
@jennifersman But now as Huston's character stated at the end of the film, man and ape were friends and lived in piece. This was because of the revolt this time was lead by Caesar would loved his human friend and provider in the movie, Ricardo Montelban. I thought it was touching how in this time's future, the new statue of Caesar, which shed a tear, had replaced the old one of the old human hating orangutang lawgiver.

The climactic battle is one of the enduring epic clashes of all time. Fifteen apes v's a dozen humans. Epic stuff.
