@ccgamemaster75 go to excaliber. those crossbows are a little louder, but every crossbow is going to be on the loud side, because crosssbows are inefficient. and to gain speed, they have to sacrifise something, and that something was noise. Check out their website. youll be spending around 800$ for the crossbow and the right stuff package. which has everything you need to target shoot and hunt. extra string and string changer come in the pack too

Easy to retrieve arrows after target shooting 2.) No cleaning and lubing with harsh chemicals after shooting 3.) You can shoots all sorts of different arrows/blades 4.) Quiet. No hearing loss will develop with bows 5.) Depending on what you use, can take down anything from bunnies to bears. If it's cute or tasty, its game.

I would rather that people shot animals with guns, because then atleast t would be an instant kill almost all the time. While crossbow's may not be powerful enough, espaicially after it has been in use for a long time for something like the elastic may have worn out making it a weaker force. This would put the animal in pain. Not Good.

Depends on the angle it is fired at. Your question is similar to the question "How long is a piece of string?". Bolts are slower than sound, so I wouldn't fire one outside of 250 yards. The animal is going to hear the twang before it gets hit, the further out it is, the more likely it will move and the shot will no longer be a killshot.
