Although it could also have taken play during the Battle City Arc, as he didn't seem to have Ra or Obelisk in his deck.
theu should make a spin off series focussing on mai or something i want some of the originals back but they will never do that if they keeps going into the future go back to the present and how mai was soul searching or something
Yugi if you want to get technical is Yami he's the reincarnation of Yami. His soul was split the dark half into the millennium puzzle the light half tp be reborn. Much like Ryou except Yami's not quite as crazy as Bakura.

I dunno, kid Atemu sounded exactly like Yugi in the Japanese version to me. This Yugi sounds almost exactly like Atemu, except softer (like Atemu sounded when he was all bummed out XD). I think it's all a bit weird, since they're supposed to be the same age and all.

It's difinitly Yugi, without question. We all no what happened to Atemu, and the voice sounds like a slightly deeper version of Yugi's. The dub version made him sound exactly like Atemu, which pissed me off. But that is in fact Yugi.
Isn't the pharaoh and YuGi the same person, it's just when they were together, the pharaoh was a little older than Yu-Gi is. In Dawn of the Duel, when they should the pharaoh as a little kid, he looked identical to Yu-Gi.
Atemu never sounded like a 40 year old man. Atemu is supposed to sound like an slightly older and WAY more confident version of Yugi. 4shits decided to make him sound forty to give the illusion that Atemu is ancient.
And they specialize in completely destroying any evidence of the Japanese version's plots, character names, personalities, and music. They've done it with DM, GX, and now, sadly, they'll do it to 5D's.

Wrong! GX is 10 years into the future. Yu-Gi-Oh DM takes place in 1996 and GX takes place in the year 2006. Episodes of GX like 83 and 96 back this up. So don't go telling me it's like 3 or 4 years becase you are wrong. In 83 you see a Chibi Kaiser using a BC duel disk and he was only about 7 to 8 years old at that time.

I know, just like in English. It's just that it's kinda like when he did the voice for kid Yami. In english, they just used Yugi's voice, but in the Japanese version it was a kid-version of Yami, I just think it's now the other way around, with a slightly more adult-sounding Yugi. (In English they used Yami's voice. @.@)

I dunno, kid Atemu sounded exactly like Yugi in the Japanese version to me. This Yugi sounds almost exactly like Atemu, except softer (like Atemu sounded when he was all bummed out XD). I think it's all a bit weird, since they're supposed to be the same age and all.
Anyway, it's been ten years and Yugi's still wearing the same outfit? Tsk tsk... He looks kinda wrong without his puzzle.

actually it's more... like 10 or something... because at duelist kingdom he was 16.. then at the pyramid of light it was 3 years since he had won the king of games title...and that you have to add kaiba grand prix and millenium world and capsule monster chess ovas... and eventually some years between the end of yugioh the original and the start of gx... cause duel academy looks like it's been running for some years when jaden gets in :D

It's difinitly Yugi, without question. We all no what happened to Atemu, and the voice sounds like a slightly deeper version of Yugi's. The dub version made him sound exactly like Atemu, which pissed me off. But that is in fact Yugi.

Isn't the pharaoh and YuGi the same person, it's just when they were together, the pharaoh was a little older than Yu-Gi is. In Dawn of the Duel, when they should the pharaoh as a little kid, he looked identical to Yu-Gi.

well maybe Atemu looked identical to Yugi, but they aren't the same persons, they have an own body (Khet), soul(Ba) and spirit(Ka) ;-) lol

Atemu never sounded like a 40 year old man. Atemu is supposed to sound like an slightly older and WAY more confident version of Yugi. 4shits decided to make him sound forty to give the illusion that Atemu is ancient.

Hmm I think that Yugi is like that because now he has many friends etc. He's more outgoing and as DM Champion I think he has his chare of arrogancy. The same thing like with Atem being Pharaoh? Well maybe not. ^^' And maybe Yugi didn't apogolise because he had some kind of revealation about Judai.
His voice... even if it sounds a little older now it still has this Yuginess in it. It's kind of soft and.. careful? And definitely not as strong as Atem's.

no what i think? i think its Atem's spirit wandering about a bit! i mean, sure Yugi would be grown up now but if that was Yugi then that means hes changed his style and the way he walks to fit Atems! Plus Yugi would apoligise and help Jaden up when he fell down! Definate proof that it's not Yugi!

Wrong! GX is 10 years into the future. Yu-Gi-Oh DM takes place in 1996 and GX takes place in the year 2006. Episodes of GX like 83 and 96 back this up. So don't go telling me it's like 3 or 4 years becase you are wrong. In 83 you see a Chibi Kaiser using a BC duel disk and he was only about 7 to 8 years old at that time.

if it were 10, yugi must be 26 years old then. like seto kaiba. and kaiba, pegasus, para + dox and sugoroku (yugi's grandpa) haven't changed a lot.
