I am an atheist and it is not because of Jesus it is because of religion and the Church and one more thing, even when I was a christian I was only a christian thanks to what every pastor, priest told me "believe in God or you're going to hell", after some time (when I was 14) I started questioning myself and religion, I started looking back in days when I "believed" in God and I just found out that I've never felt the faith, and I never did.

Excuse me, but I do believe St. Paul, St. Timothy, St. John, St. Mark, and all the other writers of the New Testament were religious. Most of them were bishops, as a matter of fact. Jesus founded a living Church, and it's still here today. In fact, it's the oldest surviving institution in history.

I agree with almost everything you said. I am an atheist and it is not because of Jesus it is because of religion and the Church and one more thing, even when I was a christian I was only a christian thanks to what every pastor, priest told me "believe in God or you're going to hell", after some time (when I was 14) I started questioning myself and religion, I started looking back in days when I "believed" in God and I just found out that I've never felt the faith, and I never did.

A prayer and move of God later, the girl in the wheelchair now walks and the one who cant twist now can. I would ask your science to explain that, but unfortunately were still waiting for a half decent explanation for the existence of matter and a solution to all the flaws in evolution. All the comments I've read on here by people discrediting Christianity and Jesus are by people,, soem of them obviously quite well educated and eloquent, who clearly either haven't really read the scriptures or just don't get it. If you're gonna crticise something, at least criticise it for what it ACTUALLY is and not what you incorrectly perceive it to be. Look at Jesus Himself and NOT at people who prfofess to be His disciples, what the media say it is or anything else. Look into Jesus!

Religion and religious attitudes are my pet hates. I absolutely abhor them!
It's all about the Kingdom of God and Jesus did it all.

@party489 atleast in Christianity there is some explanation of creation, that is back up by 2000+ fulfilled prophecies of the Bible. Doesn't seem as much like a fairy tale than everything coming into existence out of nothing

Mr. Driscoll, I hate to disappoint you, but what you are doing is religion. It is your activity (and may I say, after your own traditions) in response to God and HIs grace. Even churches that follow the Regulative Principle, so far as they understand it, are engaging in religious activity. Religion, tout court, is not to be labeled as evil. I agree that Scripture teaches that "religion" as attempts by unredeemed people to please God, or their understanding of God, is empty. It is to no avail.

Man do I agree with Religion doesn't. I believe organized religion will be the downfall of man.If you were a Christian you would not have a problem with anything I write. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and the only people whom Jesus condemned to hell were people just like you - the "scribes and Pharisees" who picked out a few Bible verses to justify their prejudices and condemnation. Jesus said that you show your love for God by your love for your fellow man.

My biggest hope for you, would be that you could have a personal encounter with Jesus. That you would have a Jesus moment where He would reveal Himself to you in His great love for You, and that you would sense His Awesomeness and the reality of His presence for You.

They gave up their lives to torture and murder by wild animals, fire, and other means. The witness of the truth of Jesus Christ is sounded greatest by the blood of his saints which has been spilled in the millions upon millions for the name of Jesus Christ the Son of God-whose judgment seat we must all appear before some day.
